Challenges in Elucidating the Free Energy Scheme of the Laccase Catalyzed Reduction of Oxygen
Bioinorganic chemistry: High potential variants of the multicopper enzyme laccase have a remarkably low overpotential for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Understanding the precise underlying principles are potentially of great value in light of the energy transition wherein the ORR plays a crucial role.

Halogenated Trityl Cations as Easy‐to‐Access Super Electrophiles
Herein, we present the easy‐to‐access synthesis of the perfluorotrityl cation and the further functionalization of its para‐fluorine atoms via halodefluorination using trimethylsilyl halides TMSX (X=Cl, Br). This enables the synthesis of equally reactive halogenated trityl derivatives, that can be handled at room‐temperature.

Modeling of the solid rotor induction motor [PDF]
Conventionally the rotors of cage type induction motors are laminated. There is also the possibility of using a solid rotor made from magnetic steel. This option offers advantages associated with ease of construction and reduced material costs. There are

This study demonstrates that the atypical dehydrogenase/isomerase FabX in Type‐II fatty acid biosynthesis pathway is essential for H. pylori infection by retaining unsaturated fatty acid synthesis and producing superoxide (ROS). A small molecule FBX‐1991 that specifically targets FabX to inhibit H.

Stability is the key challenge for Sn─Pb perovskites. This work tackles the critical stability issue by introducing phenol hydroxylation in the hole transporting material (HTM). The phenol group enhances oxidation resistance and regulates crystallization kinetics, while fluorine improves energy alignment.

Vessel‐On‐A‐Chip Coupled Proteomics Reveal Pressure‐Overload‐Induced Vascular Remodeling
A vessel‐on‐a‐chip system is developed to replicate both physiological and pathological vessel cyclic stretches. Proteomic analysis reveals pressure‐overload‐induced vascular remodeling, including cellular response to mechanical cues, cellular oxidative stresses, ER stress, and ceramide biosynthesis activation in the vessel‐on‐a‐chip system, well ...

A Bis‐Perylene Diimide Macrocycle Chiroptical Switch
A chiral bis‐perylene diimide macrocycle has been prepared in which point chiral imide groups yield a discrete helical dimer, to mimic a helical supramolecular assembly. The macrocycle exhibits three‐way switching of its chiroptical properties in solution (+/−/off).

Biosynthesis of phytases and phosphatases by Aspergillus niger 551
The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of the Aspergillus niger 551 strain to produce phytases and phosphatases in 24 days shake cultures at a pH adjusted to 5.5 and a changing (uncontrolled) pH, in a medium containing 0.5% of glucose and 4% of starch. The fermentation process of the culture performed with no adjustment of the pH showed
