Distribution of Big Tau Isoforms in the Human Central and Peripheral Nervous System
Objective Tau is widely studied in neurodegeneration, yet most work has focused on canonical brain tau isoforms. A longer isoform, “big tau,” produced by inclusion of exon 4a, is expressed in the peripheral nervous system (PNS) and central nervous system (CNS) regions.

The mechanism of labor in nonhuman primates: A look inside
Abstract While in humans, the flexed position of the fetus and its rotating course down the birth canal are well documented, in other primates the mechanism of labor is unknown. Despite the lack of comparative data, it is commonly assumed that the human obstetric mechanism is unique, and anthropologists have disputed when and why the transition to the ...

NCAM1 is the Target of miRNA-572: Validation in the Human Oligodendroglial Cell Line [PDF]
The neural cell adhesion molecule 1 (NCAM1) is a fundamental protein in cellâcell interaction and in cellular developmental processes, and its dysregulation is involved in a number of diseases including multiple sclerosis.

Objective Microbial small RNAs can regulate human genes. Higher plasma concentrations of microbial transfer RNA (tRNA)‐derived RNA‐1 (tDR‐1) were previously associated with lower rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity. This study examined whether tDR‐1 concentrations differ in anticyclic citrullinated peptide‐3 positive (CCP3+) at‐risk individuals (

Interaction between miR-572 and PPP2R2C, and their effects on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells [PDF]
We investigated the how miR-572 regulates PPP2R2C, and studied the effects of miR-572 and PPP2R2C on proliferation and migration as well as invasion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells.
