This study reports a mild “Zn(NO3)2 interlayer‐expansion” strategy combined with electrodeposition to produce a self‐supporting capacitive anode (NiFe@PC) that preserves the wood's native low‐tortuosity channels. The retained native architecture expands niches for microbial colonization.

New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.

Rethinking a positive‐sum game: US FDI location decisions in the presence of Chinese FDI
Abstract Research Summary This study examines how rising Chinese outbound foreign direct investment (OFDI) in third‐country markets shapes US MNEs' foreign direct investment location decisions amid escalating US–China geopolitical rivalry. US firms initially benefit from complementary co‐location dynamics, as Chinese OFDI—particularly in infrastructure—

An ultrathin 2D nanosheet composite of ultrafine Ru nanoclusters embedded in amorphous Ni(OH)x was synthesized in one step. Synergistic Ru‐Ni(OH)x interactions and abundant Ni–O–Ru interfacial sites provide excellent catalytic activity, robust stability, and highly efficient hydrogen evolution in both neutral and alkaline electrolytes under practical ...

Field inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) offers a promising route to improve sustainable agriculture and food production, yet results are often variable. We investigated the mycorrhizal growth response of maize and wheat varieties recommended for farmers and found substantial variation under greenhouse conditions.
