A switchable multifunctional artificial neuron with rate coding and time‐to‐first‐spike coding for accurate image recognition

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
A switchable multifunctional artificial neuron device is presented. This device can switch between volatile and non‐volatile modes by changing the position of the electrode contacts. Based on the multi‐functionality of the device, rate coding and time‐to‐first‐spike (TTFS) coding were respectively implemented and applied to image recognition, this ...

Alleviating trade‐off between responsivity and response speed of Ga2O3 solar‐blind photodetector via modulation of carrier redistribution and extraction accessibility

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Ga2O3 photodetectors, particularly those dominated by the photoconductive effect, inevitably face a trade‐off between photoresponsivity and response speed. In this work, bilayer‐structure Ga2O3 films are adopted for solar‐blind photodetectors to alleviate the trade‐off between photoresponsivity and response speed.

Early‐Onset Movement Disorder Syndrome Caused by Biallelic Variants in PDE1B Encoding Phosphodiesterase 1B

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in basal ganglia cells through hydrolysis of diesteric bonds, primarily by PDE10A and PDE1B, is essential for normal human movement. While biallelic loss‐of‐function variants in PDE10A are known to cause hyperkinetic movement disorders, the ...
