Simplex and multiplex CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated knockout of grain protease inhibitors in model and commercial barley improves hydrolysis of barley and soy storage proteins

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Summary Anti‐nutritional factors in plant seeds diminish the utilization of nutrients in feed and food. Among these, protease inhibitors inhibit protein degradation by exogenous proteases during digestion. Through conventional and selection‐gene‐free genome editing using ovules as explants, we used simplex and multiplex CRISPR/Cas9 for studying the ...

Light Quantity Impacts Early Response to Cold and Cold Acclimation in Young Leaves of Arabidopsis

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant reactions to stress vary with development stage and fitness. This study assessed the relationship between light and chilling stress in Arabidopsis acclimation. By analysing the transcriptome and proteome responses of expanding leaves subjected to varying light intensity and cold, 2251 and 2064 early response genes and proteins were ...

A Comprehensive Study and Analysis of the Third Generation Partnership Project’s 5G New Radio for Vehicle-to-Everything Communication

open access: yesFuture Internet
Recently, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) introduced new radio (NR) technology for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication to enable delay-sensitive and bandwidth-hungry applications in vehicular communication.

Downlink OFDM-FAMA in 5G-NR Systems

open access: yes
Fluid antenna multiple access (FAMA), enabled by the fluid antenna system (FAS), offers a new and straightforward solution to massive connectivity. Previous results on FAMA were primarily based on narrowband channels. This paper studies the adoption of FAMA within the fifth-generation (5G) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) framework ...

Affective evaluation and exposure perception of everyday mobile phone usage situations

open access: yesRisk Analysis, EarlyView.
Abstract To understand citizens’ reactions to the 5G rollout, their affective reaction and perception of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF‐EMF) exposure are of interest. Although precursor studies on 2G–4G have investigated exposure perception mostly quantitatively, the present study applied a qualitative exploratory approach.

Fluid Antenna System Empowering 5G NR

open access: yes
Fluid antenna system (FAS) is an emerging technology that uses the new form of shape- and position-reconfigurable antennas to empower the physical layer for wireless communications. Prior studies on FAS were however limited to narrowband channels. Motivated by this, this paper addresses the integration of FAS in the fifth generation (5G) orthogonal ...

5G LDPC Linear Transformer for Channel Decoding [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This work introduces a novel, fully differentiable linear-time complexity transformer decoder and a transformer decoder to correct 5G New Radio (NR) LDPC. We propose a scalable approach to decode linear block codes with $O(n)$ complexity rather than $O(n^2)$ for regular transformers.
