The first exit time of fractional Brownian motion from a parabolic domain [PDF]

open access: yesTheor. Probab. Appl., 64:3 (2019), 610-620, 2018
We study the first exit time of a multi-dimensional fractional Brownian motion from unbounded domains. In particular, we are interested in the upper tail of the corresponding distribution when the domain is parabola-shaped.

Electric‐Field‐Driven Reversal of Ferromagnetism in (110)‐Oriented, Single Phase, Multiferroic Co‐Substituted BiFeO3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electric‐field‐induced magnetization reversal is a long‐sought‐after achievement in materials engineering for use in next‐generation, ultra‐low power consumption memory devices. This work demonstrates fully electric‐field‐driven switching of the out‐of‐plane component of magnetization in (110)‐oriented Co‐substituted BiFeO3 thin films at room ...

R-isophthalic Acid-based Coordination Polymers (R = Hydrogen or Bromine)

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2013
Three new R-isophthalic acid-based (R = H or Br) coordination polymers have been designed and synthesized. By changing the N-containing ligand in the system, we are able to tune the dimensionality of coordination polymers from one-dimension (1D)

Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting

Stabilizing and structuring oil–oil interfaces by molecular brush surfactants

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 3, Issue 6, December 2022., 2022
Using the co‐assembly of polar molecular brushes and nonpolar oligomeric ligands, molecular brush surfactants (MBSs) form and assemble in situ at the DMF–octane interface via electrostatic interaction/hydrogen bonding. The binding energy of MBS to the interface is sufficiently high to support the compression, then to structure liquids.

Does DNA Exert an Active Role in Generating Cell-Sized Spheres in an Aqueous Solution with a Crowding Binary Polymer?

open access: yesLife, 2015
We report the spontaneous generation of a cell-like morphology in an environment crowded with the polymers dextran and polyethylene glycol (PEG) in the presence of DNA. DNA molecules were selectively located in the interior of dextran-rich micro-droplets,

High‐Energy‐Density Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries: Recent Progress, Design Strategies, Challenges, and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Strategies achieving high‐energy‐density aqueous zinc‐ion batteries are summarized and analyzed from both their separate advancements and the integrated effectiveness in this review. Then, perspectives are given for valuable guidance for further development of high‐energy‐density aqueous zinc‐ion batteries.

A Systematic Study of Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation on Thiol‐Ene Polymers: Toward the Development of Microfluidic Bacterial Biofilm Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work presents a systematic characterization of an emerging polymer platform, off‐stoichiometry thiol‐ene, in terms of its ability to support the formation, growth, and metabolic activity of Staphylococcus aureus biofilms. The findings indicate that thiol‐enes promote S.

Electrochemical ammonia production from nitrates in agricultural tile drainage: Technoeconomic and global warming analysis

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 69, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Nitrates from agricultural wastewater are harmful to human health and result in eutrophication. Several emerging electrochemical technologies have been developed independently to enable efficient recovery and recycling of nitrate waste; however, it remains unclear whether the implementation of such combined technologies can be economically ...
