SMAD4 Palmitoylation Drives a Metabolic‐Transcriptional Circuit to Promote Tumorigenesis and Confers Radiosensitivity in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies palmitoylation as a novel regulatory modification of SMAD4, mediated by ZDHHC22/APT2. It activates fatty acid synthesis, creating a self‐reinforcing SMAD4–FASN–palmitate feedback loop that drives pancreatic cancer growth and enhances radiotherapy sensitivity.

Stress History Establishes a Transient Tolerant State That Shapes Antibiotic Survival Upon Resuscitation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput single‐cell analysis of resuscitating bacteria reveals a starvation‐history‐dependent transiently tolerant subpopulation that survives β$\beta$‐lactam exposure by temporarily reducing growth. Distinct from classical persisters, these actively growing yet dynamically modulated cells dominate survival across clinically relevant antibiotic

Localizable Fluorescent Metal Ion Indicators With Tunable Colors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A modular platform enables the generation of fluorescent metal ion indicators with tunable emission colors and precise subcellular localization. Conjugation to self‐labeling proteins yields bright, color‐tunable potassium probes that permit wash‐free live‐cell imaging, revealing dynamic potassium efflux in stimulated neurons.

Corrosion Behaviour of 316L Stainless Steel in Boric Acid Solutions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2018
The corrosion behaviour of stainless steel 316L in boric acid solutions to simulate the environment in the primary circuit of a pressurized water reactor was investigated by electrochemistry, the weight loss method, scanning electron microscopy, and X ...

In Situ Confinement of 0D Halometallates Within Deep Eutectic Solvents: From Systematic Screening to Metal‐Tunable Luminescence for Anti‐Counterfeiting Eutectogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report photostable, photoluminescent deep eutectic solvents (DESs) powered by in situ‐formed zero‐dimensional (0D) halometallates. Stabilized by microenvironment‐controlling hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) and donor (HBD) networks, these DESs exhibit vibrant, metal ion‐tunable emission (PLQY = 60.2%).

Photoelectrochemical CO2 Conversion to Hydrocarbons Using an AlGaN/GaN-Si Tandem Photoelectrode

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2015
We report on a qualitatively improved photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction system which makes it possible to convert CO2 into hydrocarbons. The key is the tandem photoelectrode, which consists of AlGaN/GaN and Si device with p-n junction.

Preoperative Computed Tomography Colonography‐Angiography for Vascular Mapping to Guide and Standardize D3 Lymphadenectomy in Right‐Sided and Transverse Colon Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study utilized high‐resolution CT colonography‐angiography to systematically classify vascular branching patterns in 591 patients. We defined four reproducible anatomical patterns each for right hemicolectomy and transverse colectomy, demonstrating that an independent‐origin middle colic artery consistently predicts shorter dissection distances ...

Development of CVD Silica Membranes Having High Hydrogen Permeance and Steam Durability and a Membrane Reactor for a Water Gas Shift Reaction

open access: yesMembranes, 2019
Water gas shift reaction of carbon monoxide (CO) with membrane reactors should be a promising method for hydrogen mass-production because of its high CO conversion, high hydrogen purity and low carbon dioxide emission.

Co‐Occurring Non‐Cardiac Congenital Anomalies Among Cases With Congenital Heart Defects

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cases with congenital heart defects (CHD) often have other associated anomalies. The aim of this investigation was to assess the prevalence and the types of co‐occurring anomalies in CHD in a well‐defined population. The anomalies co‐occurring with CHD were ascertained in all live births, stillbirths and terminations of pregnancy for fetal ...
