Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

Energy transfer within phycocyanin trimers of Mastigocladus laminosus studied by picosecond time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The transient absorption recovery induced in phycocyanin trimers by picosecond pulses of variable wavelength (570 — 620 nm) has been recorded and analyzed by applying a least-squares multi-exponential fit procedure.

Gas Chromatographic/Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Volatile Metabolites in Bovine Vaginal Fluid and Assessment of Their Bioactivity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2011
The chemical profiles of vaginal fluid collected from cows in oestrus and nonoestrus were analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to establish any qualitative ...

Two Material Properties from One Wavelength‐Orthogonal Photoresin Enabled by a Monochromatic Laser Integrated Stereolithographic Apparatus (Mono LISA)

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A single object with dual properties – degradable and non‐degradable – is fabricated in a single print simply by switching the printing colors. The advanced multi‐material printing is enabled by the combination of a fully wavelength‐orthogonal photoresin and a monochromatic tunable laser printer, paving the way for precise multi‐material ...

Ranald Bannerman: the Hero as ‘Real’ Boy [PDF]

open access: yes
First published in serial form in ‘Good Words for the Young’ Nov 1869 – Oct 1870, Ranald Bannerman’s Boyhood (RBB) holds premonitions of MacDonald’s later books such as Princess and the Goblin (1872) and The Princess and Curdie (1883) and includes ...

Status of Pacific mackerel spawning population, 1975 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Three methods were used to determine the Pacific mackerel population. The tag and recovery method estimated the population at 620 short tons. The other two estimates were based on regression techniques of partyboat catches and these results yielded 2,

Structural, thermal and optical characteristics of Fe 1−X Zr X alloy by using mechanical milling approach: influence of Zr4+ ion

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
By changing Zr concentrations, Fe _1-x -Zr _x (x = 0.25 & 1 at%) alloys were successfully produced in an argon atmosphere using the mechanical alloying method. The produced Fe _1-x -Zr _x alloys were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.
