EFFECT OF PRUNE Prunus domestica CONSUMPTION ON BLOOD LIPID PROFILE IN PATIENTS WITH MODERATE HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2018
Most of chemical and nutritional plum properties presented in the literature relate to cultivars grown in warm climates. The aim of the study was to assess the effect of prune consumption on blood lipid profiles in patients with moderate ...

Dominant mobility modulation by the electric field effect at the LaAlO_3 / SrTiO_3 interface

open access: yes, 2009
Caviglia et al. [Nature (London) 456, 624 (2008)] have found that the superconducting LaAlO_3 / SrTiO_3 interface can be gate modulated. A central issue is to determine the principal effect of the applied electric field. Using magnetotransport studies of

Cost‐Benefit Analysis of the European Union Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism in Fertilizer Trade

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), launching 2026, will charge EU importers for embedded carbon emissions, aiming to reduce emissions but raising import costs. Shifts in demand following implementation may reduce carbon emissions, but importers will bear the cost of increased prices.

Measurement of the branching fraction for the decay KS --> pi e nu

open access: yes, 2002
We present a measurement of the branching ratio BR(KS --> pi e nu) performed using the KLOE detector. KS mesons are produced in the reaction e+ e- --> phi --> KS KL at the DAFNE collider.

An algorithmic definition of the axial map [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The fewest-line axial map, often simply referred to as the 'axial map, is one of the primary tools of space syntax. Its natural language definition has allowed researchers to draw consistent maps that present a concise description of architectural space;

Causal analysis of trade loss from pathogens: A global study of foot and mouth disease impacts on meat exports

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Our general interest is in global trade loss from livestock pathogens, specifically exports. We adopt a causal inference approach that considers animal disease outbreaks over time as non‐staggered binary treatments with the potential for switching in (infection) and out of treatment (recovery) within the sample period. The outcome evolution of

Epitaxial growth of CoSi2 on hydrogen-terminated Si(001) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We demonstrate that CoSi2 grows epitaxially on H-terminated Si(001) and present the growth mechanism. It was found that direct reaction of Co with Si is suppressed on H-terminated Si below 400 °C.

Homelessness Service Usage Patterns of 30,000 Homeless and At‐Risk Households: The Melbourne Access Point Study

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over the last three decades, overseas researchers have utilised administrative data to identify distinct patterns in shelter use. In Australia, the use of administrative data to understand service utilisation patterns among people ‘at risk’ of homelessness and experiencing homelessness is limited.
