Optimal Paired Comparison Experiments for Second-Order Interactions [PDF]
In real life situations often paired comparisons involving alternatives of either full or partial profiles to mitigate cognitive burden are presented. For this situation the problem of finding optimal designs is considered in the presence of second-order interactions when all attributes have general common number of levels.

On the construction of nested space-filling designs
Nested space-filling designs are nested designs with attractive low-dimensional stratification. Such designs are gaining popularity in statistics, applied mathematics and engineering.

Optimal $2^K$ Paired Comparison Designs for Third-Order Interactions [PDF]
In psychological research often paired comparisons are used in which either full or partial profiles of the alternatives described by a common set of two-level attributes are presented. For this situation the problem of finding optimal designs is considered in the presence of third-order interactions.

A new thresholding method, based on L-statistics and called order thresholding, is proposed as a technique for improving the power when testing against high-dimensional alternatives.

Exploring Bayesian models to evaluate control procedures for plant disease [PDF]
Tigernut tubers are the main ingredient in the production of orxata in Valencia, a white soft sweet popular drink. In recent years, the appearance of black spots in the skin of tigernuts has led to important economic losses in orxata production because ...

Saturated fractions of two-factor designs [PDF]
In this paper we study saturated fractions of a two-factor design under the simple effect model. In particular, we define a criterion to check whether a given fraction is saturated or not, and we compute the number of saturated fractions. All proofs are constructive and can be used as actual methods to build saturated fractions.

A Characterization of Saturated Designs for Factorial Experiments [PDF]
In this paper we study saturated fractions of factorial designs under the perspective of Algebraic Statistics. We define a criterion to check whether a fraction is saturated or not with respect to a given model. The proposed criterion is based purely on combinatorial objects. Our technique is particularly useful when several fractions are needed.

Simulations on the combinatorial structure of D-optimal designs [PDF]
In this work we present the results of several simulations on main-effect factorial designs. The goal of such simulations is to investigate the connections between the $D$-optimality of a design and its geometrical structure. By means of a combinatorial object, namely the circuit basis of the design matrix, we show that it is possible to define a ...

Control of Error Rates in Adaptive Analysis of Orthogonal Saturated Designs [PDF]
Individual and simultaneous confidence intervals using the data adaptively are constructed for the effects in orthogonal saturated designs under the assumption of effect sparsity.
