Substrate Engineering for Durable Omniphobic Liquid‐Like Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The significant yet less investigated role of substrates in determining the liquid‐repellency and mechanical durability of liquid‐like surfaces (LLSs) is explored. Thick and crack‐free sol–gel silica intermediary layers are developed that can smoothen substrate asperity roughness even at the micron scale, enabling omniphobic polydimethylsiloxane‐based ...

Reaction of cobalt in SO2 atmospheric at elevated temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes
The reaction rate of cobalt in SO2 argon environments was measured at 650 C, 700 C, 750 C and 800 C. Product scales consist primarily of an interconnected sulfide phase in an oxide matrix.

Robust induction of retinal pigment epithelium cells from human induced pluripotent stem cells by inhibiting FGF/MAPK signaling

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2019
Functional decline and loss of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cause retinal diseases. Clinical studies using human embryonic stem cell (hESC)- or induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived RPE cells have shown the safety and potential efficacy ...

Accelerated Discovery of High‐Performance PCFC Cathodes: Computational‐Experimental Optimization of Cobalt‐Substituted Ba0.95La0.05FeO3‐δ

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An integrated computational–experimental strategy accelerates the discovery of high‐performance PCFC cathodes. Computational screening using machine learning interatomic potentials and targeted experiments identifies optimal cobalt substitution in Ba0.95La0.05FeO3‐δ, reducing area‐specific resistance by 58% at 500 °C.
