ON THE CONVEXITY OF PIECEWISE-DEFINED FUNCTIONS ∗, ∗∗, ∗∗∗ [PDF]
. Functions that are piecewise defined are a common sight in mathematics while convexity is a property especially desired in optimization. Suppose now a piecewise-defined function is convex on each of its defining components — when can we conclude that ...

Verifying of reciprocal relations for nonlinear quadripole in unsteady mode
This paper deals with experimental verification of reciprocal relations of nonlinear quadripole for unsteady mode in external magnetic field. We find out transients of measured voltages in the quadripole after current switch.

Logarithmic Curvature Graph as a Shape Interrogation Tool [PDF]
A compact formula for Logarithmic Curvature Graph(LCG) and its gradient for planar curves has been shown which can be used as shape interrogation tool. Using these entities, the mathematical definition for a curve to be aesthetic has been introduced to ...

Recent improvements in Hurricane Imaging Radiometer’s brightness temperature image reconstruction
NASA MSFCs airborne Hurricane Imaging Radiometer (HIRAD) uses interferometric aperture synthesis to produce high resolution wide swath images of scene brightness temperature (Tb) distribution at four discrete C-band microwave frequencies (4.0, 5.0, 6.0 ...

In this work we present first results of a laboratory manufactured filter-fluorometer to study differences in intensity and position of the main peaks of three porphyrins that appear during the Heme-Synthesis. Porphyrins play a major role in Photodynamic

Adsorption of binary polymer mixtures with different topology on a wall
We consider a binary mixture of two polymers with different architecture, consisting of linear and cyclic chains. We study this system by performing extensive molecular dynamics computer simulations of bead-spring models, which possess the open-chain and

Voltage transients in thin-film InSb Hall sensor
The work is reached to study temperature transients in thin-film Hall sensors. We experimentally study InSb thin-film Hall sensor. We find transients of voltage with amplitude about 10 μV on the sensor ports after current switching.

Control point based representation of inellipses of triangles [PDF]
We provide a control point based parametric description of inellipses of triangles, where the control points are the vertices of the triangle themselves.

B-Splines with Arbitrary Connection Matrices
We consider a space of Chebyshev splines whose left and right derivatives satisfy linear constraints that are given by arbitrary non-singular connection matrices.
