Discovering Interpretable Semantics from Radio Signals for Contactless Cardiac Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a semantic representation framework for clinically interpretable cardiac monitoring from contactless radio signals. It formulates radio semantic learning as an information‐bottleneck problem and approximates the objective via intra‐modal compression and cross‐modal alignment, structuring radio measurements into meaningful semantic ...

Redox‐Active Tungsten Mono‐Oxo Bis(dithiolene) Complex: A Fast‐Rechargeable Anode for High‐Capacity Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports the first application of a W‐oxo bis(dithiolene) complex, (Et4N)2[WO(S2C2(C6H5)2)2], as a novel anode material for lithium‐ion batteries. This complex stores Li+ ions via multivalent W‐centered redox processes involving its oxo (WO) and dithiolene (S) sites.

The status of the Pacific sardine resource and its management [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
The Pacific sardine fishery has declined from a catch of almost 8 hundred-thousand tons in the nineteen thirties to relative insignificance at present. This decline was primarily due to the decline of the northern subpopulation.

Anomalous Raman scattering from phonons and electrons of superconducting FeSe$_{0.82}$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report interesting anomalies in the temperature dependent Raman spectra of FeSe$_{0.82}$ measured from 3K to 300K in the spectral range from 60 to 1800 cm$^{-1}$ and determine their origin using complementary first-principles density functional ...

Debunking Common Myths & Misconceptions About NMC Positive Electrode Materials for Li‐ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
LiNixMnyCozO2 (NMC) and LiNixCoyAlzO2 (NCA) remain the choice for high‐energy‐density lithium‐ion battery positive electrode materials, yet many myths persist surrounding them. Herein, four common misconceptions are tackled to better inform the lithium‐ion battery field.

Divergent Asymmetric Total Synthesis of All Four Pestalotin Diastereomers from (R)-Glycidol

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
All four chiral pestalotin diastereomers were synthesized in a straightforward and divergent manner from common (R)-glycidol. Catalytic asymmetric Mukaiyama aldol reactions of readily-available bis(TMSO)diene (Chan’s diene) with (S)-2 ...

Local bilinear multiple-output quantile/depth regression

open access: yes, 2015
A new quantile regression concept, based on a directional version of Koenker and Bassett's traditional single-output one, has been introduced in [Ann. Statist. (2010) 38 635-669] for multiple-output location/linear regression problems.

Comparison Between Upfront Surgery and Preoperative Chemotherapy for CY1P0 Gastric Cancer: A Japanese Sub‐Analysis of CONVO‐GC‐1

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Radical gastrectomy, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy has been a common practice in Japan for peritoneal lavage cytology‐positive (CY1) but peritoneal dissemination‐negative (P0) stage IV gastric cancer. This study aimed to clarify the differences in treatment outcomes between upfront surgery and preoperative chemotherapy, followed

Interactions of oxidative DNA damage and CYP1A gene expression with the liver enzymes in Klunzinger’s mullet exposed to benzo[a]pyrene

open access: yesToxicology Reports, 2019
Benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) is an important contaminant whose liver biotransformation is dependent on the species, the route of exposure and the concentration.
