Suppressed Auger Heating of Hot Carriers in Cu‐Doped Colloidal Quantum Wells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Auger heating represents a major bottleneck for hot carrier (HC) relaxation in colloidal quantum wells (CQWs), delaying carrier accumulation in band‐edge states and diminishing performance in light‐emitting applications. To address this issue, we introduce copper doping in CdSe CQWs to create midgap states, which efficiently suppresses Auger ...

A Catalytic Osmium Redox Couple Collapses Cancer Redox Balance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A stable Os(III)/Os(IV) redox couple is developed to disrupt the tumor cell redox balance by concurrently catalyzing ROS generation and GSH depletion. Osmium‐treated cells exhibit multiple cell death pathways, including apoptosis, ferroptosis, and immunogenic cell death.

Intraspecific variations on mitochondrial genomes of Aphis glycines (Hemiptera: Aphididae) using mitogenomes from the publicly available next-generation sequencing data

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity
Aphis glycines Matsumura, 1917 is a significant agricultural pest worldwide, responsible for the damages to soybeans. In this study, we have assembled three mitogenomes of A. glycines based on the public next-generation sequencing raw reads generated for

Uncovering the Role of Intrinsic Magnetic Order in Oxygen Evolution Reaction Activity With Operando Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Operando magnetic spectroscopy provides insight into how intrinsic magnetic order modulates the oxygen evolution reaction on La0.67Sr${\rm La}_{0.67}{\rm Sr}$0.33MnO$_{0.33}{\rm MnO}$3$_3$ thin films. Temperature‐dependent operando FMR and ambient‐pressure XMCD suggest a correlation between activity and the emergence of ferromagnetic regions near and ...

Thermal conductance measurements of pressed OFHC copper contacts at liquid helium temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes
The thermal conductance of oxygen-free high conductivity (OFHC) copper sample pairs with surface finishes ranging from 0.1 to 1.6-micrometers rms roughness was investigated over the range of 1.6 to 6.0-K under applied contact forces up to 670 N.

3D Interconnected Zn‐Ion Pathways Through Anionic Nanochannels Surrounding Bacterial Cellulose Nanofibers by Repetitive Interfacial Assembly for Aqueous Zn‐Ion Battery Separators

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A repetitive interfacial assembly method is introduced to prepare a nanofibrillar separator with interconnected 3D anionic nanochannels for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. The carboxylate‐rich nanochannels promote enhancements of Zn2+ ion transport and charge transfer at the electrode surface, and the 3D nanostructured hydrogels contribute to homogeneous ...

Resilience of Small Beef Packers and the USDA Meat Supply Chain Initiative

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We focus on the plant‐size resilience relationship among small beef packers during COVID‐19. Defining resilience as the ability to maintain or increase slaughter and non‐resilience as otherwise, we use survey and secondary data to estimate a logit model where resilience is a function of a plant's capacity and age in addition to labor condition
