Covalent modification of cytoskeletal proteins in neuronal cells by tryptamine-4,5-dione
Serotonin, 5-hydroxytryptamine, is a systemic bioactive amine that acts in the gut and brain. As a substrate of myeloperoxidase in vitro, serotonin is oxidized to tryptamine-4,5-dione (TD), which is highly reactive with thiols.

Development of Nanoflare Nanosensors for Monitoring Cellular Insulin mRNA in Beta Cells and Islets
This study presents the design and application of In2‐NF probes for detecting insulin mRNA in beta cells and islets. Using spherical nucleic acid‐coated gold nanoparticles, the probes offer strong fluorescent signals upon hybridization. Their performance is validated across 2D and 3D cultures and rat islets, demonstrating sensitive, real‐time mRNA ...

Elastomers Combining Damping Efficiency With Rapid Recovery
Double network granular elastomers (DNGEs) combine high energy dissipation under both cyclic loading and high impact with rapid shape recovery. 3D printing enables the production of complex, customizable structures with tailored performance. Recyclable DNGEs retain their properties over multiple recycling cycles.

High-Q measurements of fused-silica microspheres in the near infrared [PDF]
Measurements of the quality factor Q ~ 8 x 10^9 are reported for the whispering-gallery modes (WGM’s) of quartz microspheres for the wavelengths 670, 780, and 850 nm; these results correspond to finesse F ~ 2.2 x 10^6. The observed independence of Q from

Direct Laser Writing of Magnetic Micro Actuators With a Stimulus‐Responsive Compliant Hinge
This study presents a versatile modular design strategy for adaptive 3D microactuators. Using two‐photon‐induced C,H insertion reactions within solid polymer layers, chemically distinct hinge and stimulus responsive materials are patterned in one step. The hinge's properties enable tunable motion, mechanical control, and reconfigurable actuation across

Synthesis of VO_2 Nanowire and Observation of the Metal-Insulator Transition
We have fabricated crystalline nanowires of VO_2 using a new synthetic method. A nanowire synthesized at 650^oC shows the semiconducting behavior and a nanowire at 670^oC exhibits the first-order metal-insulator transition which is not the one ...

Whispering‐gallery‐mode microresonators with sharp resonant peaks enable photonic barcoding. Similar to a chameleon, a rare‐earth‐free microcavity with π‐conjugated PAHs enables visibleto‐near infrared color generation from a single microbead. The unique resonat emission (spectral barcode) can be dynamically transformed via excitation wavelength change,
