Securing 6LoWPAN Neighbor Discovery

IEEE Internet of Things Journal, 2021
The IEEE 802.15.4-based 6LoWPAN is a de facto standard platform for a variety of Internet-of-Things applications. To bootstrap the low-power wireless personal area Network (LoWPAN), each device must perform the 6LoWPAN neighbor discovery (6LoWPAN-ND) address registration so that a unique IPv6 address can be allocated to each device.

6LoWPAN Security

Proceedings of the 4th International Workshop on Trustworthy Embedded Devices, 2014
6LoWPAN networks are 802.15.4-based wireless sensor Networks that seamlessly integrate with IPv6 networks using specially designed protocols. Unfortunately, 6LoWPAN networks are vulnerable to hidden wormholes. To detect and subsequently avoid hidden wormholes, Jain et al.

Addressing for 6LoWPAN WBAN

Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, 2016
In 6LoWPAN, a node is configured with a home address (HoA) when it starts. Each time a node enters a new IP domain it is configured with a care-of address (CoA) to guarantee correct communications. That is, a node performs only one HoA configuration process but multiple CoA ones during its lifetime.

6LoWPAN security

Proceedings of the International Workshop on Adaptive Security, 2013
6LoWPAN is a protocol stack for seamlessly integrating 802.15.4-based wireless sensor networks with IPv6 networks. The security of 6LoWPAN widely depends on the 802.15.4 security sublayer. This sublayer also supports pairwise keys so as to mitigate node compromises. Currently, the establishment of pairwise keys is however unspecified.

6LoWPAN-SNMP: Simple Network Management Protocol for 6LoWPAN

2009 11th IEEE International Conference on High Performance Computing and Communications, 2009
We propose a 6LoWPAN-SNMP that enables transmission of SNMP messages over IPv6-enabled Low-Power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN). The 6LoWPAN-SNMP is an extended modification of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Compared to traditional IP-networks, 6LoWPAN is a severely resource-constrained network; hence, existing SNMP protocols
