Routing Protocols for 6LoWPAN

2012
Since the IPv6 over Low-Power Wireless Area Networks (6LoWPAN) standard does not define routing protocols, several approaches have been made to reuse and adapt existing MANET protocols. Extensive current research and development is conducted at the ROLL working group.

Data Aggregation in 6LoWPAN

2015
Traditional CSMA/CA in MAC layer causes transmission control and time cost on listening and competing for channels. And the header of IPv6 packet in 6LoWPAN is usually larger than the data in it, which leads to low efficient channels. To overcome these shortages, in this paper, we proposed a novel data aggregation model.

6LoWPAN Compressed DTLS for CoAP

2012 IEEE 8th International Conference on Distributed Computing in Sensor Systems, 2012
Real deployments of the IoT require security. CoAP is being standardized as an application layer protocol for the Internet of Things (IoT). CoAP proposes to use DTLS to provide end-to-end security to protect the IoT. DTLS is a heavyweight protocol and its headers are too long to fit in a single IEEE802.15.4 MTU.

Time synchronization protocol for 6LoWPAN

2013 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI), 2013
The future is seen as place where all perceivable objects will have a layer of digital connectivity. The concept of Internet of Things involves connecting devices embedded with microcontrollers such as sensors to IP based networks. 6LoWPAN is a new set of standard for IPv6 connectivity over such low power wireless personal area networks.

Hierarchical addressing scheme for 6LoWPAN WSN

Wireless Networks, 2016
This paper proposes a hierarchical addressing scheme for 6LoWPAN WSN and aims to reduce the addressing cost and latency. The proposed scheme includes the address initialization and address maintenance algorithms. When the network starts, the address initialization algorithm is performed.

A context system for 6LoWPAN network

2011 4th IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network and Multimedia Technology, 2011
6LoWPAN is one of the important technologies in the field of Internet of Things (IoT), which is able to realize the end-to-end communication using IP. It has attracted a lot of attentions nowadays. Currently two main functions have been defined in IETF drafts, which focus on header compression and neighbor discovery. For IPv6 header compression feature,

Managing 6LoWPAN sensors with CoAP on internet

2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015
In this paper, we focus on accessing issue to IPv6 over Low Power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN) sensors. Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) standard defined by IETF and standardisation works are still going on, is used to access and control 6LoWPAN sensors on internet.

Mobility management for 6LoWPAN WSN

Computer Networks, 2018
Abstract When a wireless node moves across different IP domains, it needs to perform both the handover in the link layer (L2) and the handover in the network layer (L3). The L2 handover is responsible for the channel switch, and the L3 handover takes charge of the IP address change to ensure the communication correctness.

6LoWPAN Hierarchical Cluster Routing Protocol

2017 International Conference on Cyber-Enabled Distributed Computing and Knowledge Discovery (CyberC), 2017
6LoWPAN is the short name for the IPv6 low-power wireless personal area network. Traditional 6LoWPAN use RPL routing protocols. When the RPL protocol is in storage mode, each node needs to keep the routing information of all the nodes in the subtree. When the network size is large, the number of the node's routing table entry will be very large.

A mobility support scheme for 6LoWPAN

Computer Communications, 2012
This paper proposes a mobility support scheme for 6LoWPAN. In the scheme, the control information interaction for the mobile handoff is achieved in the link layer, and the routing of the control information is automatically performed through the network topology, which saves the power and the delay time consumed by the routing establishment.
