Water demand profile before and during COVID-19 pandemic in a Brazilian social housing complex

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way resources are consumed around the world. The relationship between the pandemic and water consumption has important implications for the management of water use and must be evaluated in depth.

Adaptive Elastin‐Like Hydrogel with Unidirectional and Controllable Anisotropic Actuation for Soft Robotics and Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Fiber‐reinforced elastin‐like tubular scaffolds are engineered to achieve anisotropic and reversible actuation under external stimuli. By adjusting fiber's angle, actuation behavior is finely tuned, enabling distinct actuation responses, even within different regions of the same scaffold.

Small-Size Meandered Loop Antenna for WLAN Dongle Devices

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
This paper proposes a loop-type USB dongle antenna, which is fabricated on a 1.6 mm thick FR-4 substrate for WLAN band systems. The front side of substrate consists of a 50-ohm coaxial line and a multiarm monopole antenna, while the back side has a ...

Curcuminoid Derivatives with a Donor‐Acceptor‐Donor Architecture: an Outstanding Platform for Highly‐Efficient Near‐Infrared Electroluminescence and Amplified Spontaneous Emission

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Curcuminoid boron difluoride dyes containing triphenylamine units are prepared and their photophysical and electrochemical properties are investigated. These new light‐emitting dyes are used in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) emitting at 800 nm with 1% external quantum efficiency, and show low threshold amplified spontaneous emission in thin ...

Tunable‐Wavelength Broadband Liquid‐State Carbon‐Quantum‐Dot Lasers

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work provides a gain‐induced waveguide structure to achieve programmable mode spacing by coupling liquid‐state lasing of carbon quantum dots to a vertically placed aluminum mirror, enabling an unprecedented transition from random lasing to multimode lasing without cumbersome micromanufacturing, even single‐mode lasing at a wide range from 641 to ...

Understanding the Role of Fabry‐Perot Resonances in Maximizing Absorption for Ultrathin Sn Halide Perovskite Optoelectronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A design principle is presented that maximizes absorption in ultrathin (tens of nanometers) Sn halide perovskite optoelectronic devices by aligning their intrinsic absorption wavelengths with Fabry–Pérot (FP) resonances. The ultrathin FASnI3 devices exhibit increases open‐circuit voltage, reduces dark current, and high photocurrent, yielding high ...

Nodal Low-Grade B-Cell Lymphoma Co-Expressing CD5 and CD10 but Not CD23, IRTA1, or Cyclin D1: The Diagnostic Challenge of a Splenic Marginal Zone Lymphoma

open access: yesDiagnostics
The diagnosis of lymphoma is based on histopathological and immunophenotypical features. CD5 and CD10 are traditionally considered a T-cell antigen and a germinal center B-cell antigen, respectively.

Pyroelectric Doping Reversal of MoS₂ p‐n Junctions on Ferroelectric Domain Walls Probed by Photoluminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The potential of pyroelectricity for controlling electron doping in monolayer MoS2 on periodically poled LiNbO3 substrates is demonstrated. Pyroelectric charges are shown to convert p‐n into n‐p homojunctions formed in MoS2 on domain walls. The variation in the MoS2 electron density from 300 to 10 K is consistent with the change in the spontaneous ...

Preparation of Vertically Aligned ZnO/TiO2 Core-Shell Composites for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2013
Vertically aligned ZnO/TiO2 (VA-ZnO/TiO2) core-shell composites deposited on ZnO-seeded indium tin oxide (ITO) glasses have been synthesized by a chemical bath deposition approach for growing one-dimensional ZnO structure followed by a spin procedure for
