Preliminary Study of a Ninj1‐Loaded Bimodal Ultrasound/NIR Fluorescence Targeted Molecular Probe for Diagnosing Early‐Stage Inflammation in Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) targeting remains a challenge for precise diagnosis. This work presents a dual‐modal nanoprobe (T‐IR780‐NBs) that combines ultrasound contrast with near‐infrared fluorescence. This technology utilizes proteomics‐derived antibodies that specifically localize to inflamed and injured cardiac tissue, enabling ...

IL‐2 Free Expansion of T Cells with Immunofilaments

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ratio and density of stimulatory αCD3 and αCD28 mAb on immunofilaments (IF) influence T cell expansion, cytokine production, and effector phenotype. Moreover, IL‐2 supplementation is not necessary with optimal performing IFs, which leads to simpler culture conditions, and negative side effects of IL‐2 supplementation are reduced.

The Interactions between Ciprofloxacin and Parenteral Nutrition Admixtures

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
Background: Co-infusion of parenteral nutrition (PN) and other drugs increases the risk of the interaction between drug and PN admixtures that can cause embolization of small blood vessels, resulting in potentially fatal consequences, including pulmonary

Ti6Al4V‐Bioglass‐Copper Composites for Load‐Bearing Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We have designed and manufactured a novel Ti64‐based composite by adding 45S5 bioglass (BG) and copper (Cu). Adding BG on titanium improves wear resistance and biocompatibility, whereas Cu addition improves mechanical strength while providing inherent lifelong bacterial resistance.

Synthesis of a Highly Porous Nitrogen-Doped Carbon Material from a Melamine/Formaldehyde Resin with Potassium Citrate

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2017
Nitrogen-doped porous carbons were synthesized from an aqueous solution of melamine and formaldehyde. The addition of potassium citrate to the solution mixture led to a tremendous increase in the surface area from 74 m2/g to 2718 m2/g, indicating that ...

Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

Molecular Design of Highly Efficient Heavy‐Atom‐Free Near‐Infrared Cyanine Photosensitizers for Fluorescence Image‐Guided Photodynamic Therapy of Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Highly efficient heavy‐atom‐free NIR photosensitizers based on a heptamethine cyanine platform were developed for image‐guided photodynamic therapy. Both in vitro and in vivo results revealed that the R820‐3 photosensitizer with a highly twisted molecular structure exhibited potential for NIR fluorescence image‐guided photodynamic cancer therapy ...

Nonlinear Analysis of a Bolted Marine Riser Connector Using NASTRAN Substructuring [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Results of an investigation of the behavior of a bolted, flange type marine riser connector is reported. The method used to account for the nonlinear effect of connector separation due to bolt preload and axial tension load is described.

Oxygen Supply of Islets of Langerhans by Photosynthetically Active Microalgae in Bioprinted Co‐Cultures Maintains Their Function in a Hypoxic Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.
