Advanced Air Electrodes for Reversible Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells (R‐PCECs) face challenges from sluggish and unstable oxygen reduction and evolution reactions in the air electrode. This review discusses recent progress in triple‐conducting air electrodes, emphasizing mechanisms, performance factors, and design strategies, offering guidance for creating efficient and ...

Global versus local environmental impacts of grazing and confined beef production systems

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2013
Carbon footprint is a key indicator of the contribution of food production to climate change and its importance is increasing worldwide. Although it has been used as a sustainability index for assessing production systems, it does not take into account ...

Triplet State Suppression for Energy Loss Reduction in 20% Nonhalogenated Solvent Processed Binary Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Asymmetric small molecule acceptor with a methoxylated end group is produced here, whose oxygen vibration is found effective in suppressing triplet state formation, thereby minimizing non‐radiative energy loss for 20% efficiency in nonhalogenated solvent cast binary organic solar cells.

Synthesis and Photothermal Processing of Silicon‐Based Nanoconfined MXenes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Intercalation of titanium carbide (Ti3C2Tx) MXenes with aminopropyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane (amino‐PDMS) is demonstrated through ion‐exchange method followed by photonic curing (PC) using xenon flashlamp. The intercalation and PC result in enhanced interlayer spacing of Ti3C2Tx of 13.5 and 11 nm, respectively. Furthermore, conversion of PDMS to

Diffraction-limited Speckle-Masking Interferometry of the Red Supergiant VY CMa [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.Astrophys. 425 (2004) 77-87, 1998
We present the first diffraction-limited images of the mass-loss envelope of the red supergiant star VY CMa. The two-dimensional optical and NIR images were reconstructed from 3.6 m telescope speckle data using bispectrum speckle interferometry. At the wavelengths ~0.8 \mum (RG 780 filter), 1.28 \mum, and 2.17 \mum the diffraction-limited resolutions ...

Bimetallic Ruthenium‐Cobalt Catalyst Supported on Carbon Nanotubes: Synthesis, Characterization, and Application in Electrochemical Sensing of Isoleucine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ru‐Co/CNT, modified GCE electrodes are prepared and investigated their isoleucine and threonine sensors performances. Novel electrodes displayed very high selectivity as 0.02 ng/mL LOD and 0.12 ng/mL LOQ, 0.06 ng/mL LOD and 0.18 ng/mL LOQ values, respectively. Abstract In this work, a bimetallic Ru‐Co catalyst based on carbon nanotubes (Ru‐Co/CNT) with

Nano‐Octahedron Cobalt Oxide Decorated Graphene Nanocomposites for the Selective/Simultaneous Detection of Dopamine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Nano‐octahedron Co3O4 decorated graphene composite electrode for selective and simultaneous detection of dopamine. The detection limit of 0.09 µM, and linear range from 1 to 500 µM are reported. The synergistic effect of nano octahedron Co3O4 and graphene results in excellent performance of the sensor in terms of selectivity and sensitivity.
