Switching From Acceptor to FRET Donor: How the Organic Solar Cell Architecture Can Change the Role of a Chromophore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The non‐fullerene acceptor o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV is used in both binary and ternary blends to investigate the role that it plays in each device architecture. The charge generation pathways are found to differ between the binary and ternary blends with o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV becoming a second donor in the ternary blend.

Use of computational thermodynamics software to determine the influence of CaO, FeO and SiO2 on hot metal dephosphorization efficiency

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
The properties of the mixtures used in hot metal dephosphorization, such as solid and liquid fraction phases, CaO and FeO activity and viscosity, are determinant for the process efficiency. The influence of these properties on hot metal dephosphorization

Safe Practice of Y-Site Drug Administration: The Case of Colistin and Parenteral Nutrition

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2020
A serious problem in everyday clinical practice is the co-administration of drugs using the same infusion line. Potential complications of co-administration of incompatible drugs include precipitation in the infusion line or central venous catheter ...

Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

Impact of health education intervention on knowledge and perception of cervical cancer and screening for women in Ghana

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2019
Background The burden of cervical cancer continues to rise in developing economies. Women in the sub-Saharan African region have higher chances of developing cervical cancer due to a greater prevalence of related risk factors.

The Radiative Transfer in Neutron star atmospheres with Super-strong Magnetic Fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
applicationWe numerically calculate the radiative transfer in neutron star atmospheres threaded by a uniform superstrong magnetic field (~10^9 Tesla), where not only cyclotron resonant scattering but also photon splitting occurs.

Biointerfacing with AgBiS2 Quantum Dots for Pseudocapacitive Photostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that AgBiS2 quantum dots exhibit unique photoinduced pseudocapacitive charge transfer properties, enabling efficient light‐to‐electrical energy conversion. These quantum dots facilitate enhanced light absorption and transduction when integrated with ZnO nanowires, which serve as an effective charge transport medium.

Navigation by modified and dynamic intraoperative cholangiography during laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy for difficult gallbladder

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2023
We used modified and dynamic intraoperative cholangiography (IOC) navigation during laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy for difficult gallbladders. We have defined an IOC that does not open the cystic duct as a modified IOC.

A report on child safety and dog attacks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The research investigated the issues involving dog attacks on children, specifically by dogs known to the child. The report identifies the circumstances and conditions which may result in an attack by a family dog.

Near‐Infrared Circularly Polarized Electroluminescence with Switchable Handedness in Organic LEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first fully‐organic circularly polarized near‐infrared OLED, using a co‐assembled active layer of ITIC and a chiral inducer, exhibits dissymmetry values up to 0.074 and 1.65 Wsr−1m−2 radiance. The circular polarization sign can be switched by manipulating the position of the recombination zone, resulting in enhanced device performance and stability.
