The half-lives of 90Sr and 137Cs have been measured both by specific activity and by direct decay over periods of 6–10 years. The results of the decay measurements are 28·0 ± 0·4 years for 90Sr and 29·9 ± 0·5 years for 137Cs; the values obtained by specific activity measurements are 28·5 ± 0·9 years for 90Sr and 30·9 ± 0·7 years for 137Cs. The peculiarities of 90Sr and B7Cs accumulation by higher aquatic plants in Kiev water reservoir during 1991???2008 were analyzed. The decline of 90S rand l37Cs specific activity proceeds the last years, but the decrease of 90Sr takes place slower than 137Cs, that causes change of relation of 90Sr to 137Cs toward to decreasing this index.

Half-life evaluations for 3H, 90Sr, and 90Y
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2006A recent paper has reviewed methods for the evaluation of discrepant sets of data and demonstrated the results of applying these methods to the published half-life data of 90Sr and 137Cs [MacMahon, T.D., Pearce, A., Harris, P., 2004. Convergence of techniques for the evaluation of discrepant data. Appl. Radiat. Isot. 60, 275-281].

A Spreadsheet Method for 90Sr and 89Sr Interpretation
Health Physics, 1988A spreadsheet method of handling multiple data points is described for the interpretation of "radiostrontium" analyses. The method uses up to 10 or more counts on one sample, starting 1 d after the chemical separation. The unreliable "day-0" count on a relatively low activity sample is not used since it introduces too many uncertainties. The count data

The uptake of 90sr by ryegrass
Journal of Nuclear Energy. Part A. Reactor Science, 1959Abstract It is shown that 20 per cent of the ‘fall-out’ 90 Sr deposited in rain can appear in the aerial parts of ryegrass growing during the period of deposition. It is considered that almost all this activity is taken up directly by the leaves, stems and surface roots and not by the roots in the soil.
