Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Transplantation for Severe Spinal Cord Injury: Functional Improvement Supported by Angiogenesis and Neuroprotection

open access: yesCells, 2023
Mesenchymal stromal cell transplantation alone is insufficient when motor dysfunction is severe; combination therapy with rehabilitation could improve motor function.

A Novel Automatic Approach for Calculation of the Specific Binding Ratio in [I-123]FP-CIT SPECT

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2020
A fully automatic method for specific binding ratio (SBR) calculation in [123I]ioflupane single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) studies was proposed by creating volumes of interest of the striatum (VOIst) and reference region (VOIref) without

Segment-Based Unsupervised Learning Method in Sensor-Based Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Sensor-based human activity recognition (HAR) is a task to recognize human activities, and HAR has an important role in analyzing human behavior such as in the healthcare field. HAR is typically implemented using traditional machine learning methods.

Time-dependent correlations of inflationary perturbations [PDF]

open access: yesEurophys.Lett. 56 (2001) 904-910, 2001
We show that if the primordial classical perturbations were generated by the gravitational particle creation during inflation, and followed by an evolution of quantum-to-classical transition, the time dependent correlation of these perturbations is long-tailed with a correlation time larger than the Hubble-time.

Front formation in a ballistic annihilation model [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica A 229, 515 (1996), 1996
We study a simple one-dimensional model of ballisticaly-controlled annihilation in which the two annihilating species are initially spatially separated. The time dependent properties of the annihilation front are exactly derived. It is shown that the front wanders in a brownian fashion around its average value.

Contactless Determination of Electric Field in Metal–Insulator–Semiconductor Interfaces by Using Constant DC-Reflectivity Photoreflectance

open access: yesSolids, 2021
We applied photoreflectance (PR) spectroscopy for contactless determination of the electric field strength at buried interfaces in metal–insulator–semiconductor (MIS) structures.

Dielectric susceptibility of the Coulomb-glass [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B Vol. 59, 910 (1999), 1999
We derive a microscopic expression for the dielectric susceptibility $\chi$ of a Coulomb glass, which corresponds to the definition used in classical electrodynamics, the derivative of the polarization with respect to the electric field. The fluctuation-dissipation theorem tells us that $\chi$ is a function of the thermal fluctuations of the dipole ...

On the Stability of a class of Modified Gravitational Models [PDF]

open access: yesInt.J.Theor.Phys.47:898-910,2008, 2007
Motivated by the dark energy issue, a minisuperspace approach to the stability for modified gravitational models in a four dimensional cosmological setting are investigated. Specifically, after revisiting the $f(R)$ case, $R$ being the Ricci curvature, we present a stability condition around a de Sitter solution valid for modified gravitational models ...

Fixed point actions in SU(3) gauge theory: surface tension and topology [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.Proc.Suppl. 63 (1998) 910-912, 1997
This work is organized in two independent parts. In the first part are presented some results concerning the surface tension in SU(3) obtained with a parametrized fixed point action. In the second part, a new, approximately scale-invariant, parametrized fixed point action is proposed which is suitable to study the topology in SU(3).

Olfactory Neuroblastoma Treated by Endoscopic Surgery Followed by Combined External Beam Radiation and Gamma Knife for Optic Nerve and Chiasm Sparing: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Medicine, 2011
We describe the multimodality treatment regimen of a 53-year-old man diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma (Kadish stage C) in the right nasal cavity extending into the ethmoid sinus and across the cribriform plate.
