This paper provides numerical solutions to a class of singularly perturbed differential–difference equations characterized by mixed shift parameters. The solutions of such problems exhibit sharp boundary layers near the endpoints of the spatial domain due to the presence of a small perturbation parameter ε(0 < ε ≪ 1).

Here, we present a detailed study on the temperature and angular dependence of the Shubnikov-de-Haas (SdH) effect in the semi-metal WTe$_2$. This compound was recently shown to display a very large non-saturating magnetoresistance which was attributed to

On the limitations of data‐based price discrimination
The classic third degree price discrimination (3PD) model requires the knowledge of the distribution of buyer valuations and the covariate to set the price conditioned on the covariate. In terms of generating revenue, the classic result shows that 3PD is at least as good as uniform pricing.

The evolution of larvae in temnospondyls and the stepwise origin of amphibian metamorphosis
ABSTRACT The question of what the ancient life cycle of tetrapods was like forms a key component in understanding the origin of land vertebrates. The existence of distinct larval forms, as exemplified by many lissamphibians, and their transformation into adults is an important aspect in this field.

Bufonia darvishii (Caryophyllaceae), a novel endemic species from Zagros Mountains, Iran
A new subalpine species of Bufonia sect. Longipedicellata from the Zagros Mountains in west Iran is described and illustrated here. It colonizes mountain slopes with gravelly, stony, and scree substrates in one locality of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, preferably with a western and north‐west orientation, at elevations between 2700 and 3100 m a.s.

A new plant genus and species from south‐eastern Spain: Castrila latens (Rubieae, Rubiaceae)
Abstract A new genus and species, Castrila latens, native to the south‐eastern Iberian Peninsula, is described here for the first time and compared with its closest relatives. The plant is characterized by being annual, glabrous, having reduplicate leaves in whorls of (5)6–7, inflorescences capitate and involucrate, corolla shortly hypocrateriform and ...

Electronic structure of Pu and Am metals by self consistent relativistic GW
We present the results of calculations for Pu and Am performed using an implementation of self-consistent relativistic GW method. The key feature of our scheme is to evaluate polarizability and self-energy in real space and Matsubara's time.

The band gap problem: the accuracy of the Wien2k code confronted [PDF]
This paper is a continuation of our detailed study [Phys. Rev. B 86, 195106 (2012)] of the performance of the recently proposed modified Becke-Jonhson potential (mBJLDA) within the known Wien2k code.
