Anticorrosion Effect of Pineapple Peel Extract on Mild Steel in Hydrogen Sulfide Environment: Characterization, Optimization and Statistical Analysis via Response Surface Methodology

Corrosion rate decreased from 0.00548 to 0.00019 mg cm−2 h−1 with a corresponding inhibition efficiency of 95.5%. The optimal condition was obtained at 303 K and 1.0 g/L for temperature and concentration, respectively. Pineapple extract could be utilized for the inhibition of hydrogen sulfide corrosion.
