Physiological Entomology, EarlyView.In preparation for ecdysis, cricket nymphs cease feeding and gradually clear their gut contents via frass production, which removes most ingested MPs from their digestive tract. Following exoskeletal moulting, the foregut lining, including any remaining MPs, is shed and excreted alongside frass approximately 6 h later.
