The Coptic Church in the Aftermath of the Second Vatican Council: Theological or Tactical Anti‐Judaism?

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract Vatican II's declaration on the Jews, absolving them from collective guilt of deicide, marked a significant turning point in Catholic theology. Arab governments tended to perceive this development as evidence that Catholics (or Christians generally) were taking the side of Zionist Jews in the Arab‐Israeli conflict.

Species composition of blow flies (Diptera: Calliphoridae) colonizing pig carcasses exposed to bifenthrin‐ and clothianidin‐containing products

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
High clothianidin concentrations prevented colonization, while bifenthrin showed a non‐significant trend of reduced fly abundance, indicating both insecticides may suppress blow fly activity on treated carcasses. Adult emergence rates were unaffected, with no statistically significant differences observed across insecticide treatments, suggesting ...

Endogenous RALF peptide function is required for powdery mildew host colonization

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Model of RALF‐FER‐dependent effects on powdery mildew sporulation. Summary The receptor kinase FERONIA (FER) is a susceptibility factor for biotrophic powdery mildew fungal pathogens in Arabidopsis thaliana, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. FER is required for the perception of endogenous RAPID ALKALINIZATION FACTOR (RALF)

Investigating GERMs: how genotype, environment, and rhizosphere microbiome interactions underlie heat response in maize and sorghum

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Three genotypes – a heat‐resistant maize (Zea mays), a heat‐susceptible maize, and a sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) variety – were grown to the V4 stage in growth chambers under optimal conditions or subjected to heat stress. Plants were grown in soil containing a complex microbial community, or in the same soil with a depleted microbiome.

The Effect of Behavioral Sleep Interventions on Measures of Obesity, Dietary Intake and Physical Activity in Adults With Poor Sleep Health: A Systematic Review, Meta‐Analysis and Meta‐Regression Analysis

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background As poor sleep negatively impacts on adiposity, there is interest in examining whether improving sleep can improve adiposity markers. We reviewed studies aimed at improving sleep using (1) cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT‐I) and/or sleep hygiene and (2) sleep extension on adiposity markers, dietary intake, and physical ...
