ABSTRACT Background Poor reporting of baseline descriptor, diversity and inclusion data is a barrier in surgical research for drawing generalisable conclusions across diverse populations. Post‐operative ileus was used as an exemplar surgical condition to quantify the variation in baseline descriptor, inclusivity and diversity data in randomised ...

Kinematics of abdominal aortic Aneurysms
A search in Scopus within "Article title, Abstract, Keywords" unveils 2,444 documents focused on the biomechanics of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA), mostly on AAA wall stress. Only 24 documents investigated AAA kinematics, an important topic that could potentially offer significant insights into the biomechanics of AAA.

PCSK9 aggravates AAA by promoting ferroptosis in VSMCs. In the pathological AAA environment, PCSK9 upregulation triggers ferritinophagy‐dependent degradation of FTH1, leading to Fe2+ release, triggering lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis, exacerbating AAA.

Prediabetes, Malignant Ventricular Hypertrophy and Stroke: The SPRINT Trial
ABSTRACT Aims Prediabetes and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) are common risk factors in adults with hypertension. Whether their coexistence, particularly in the presence of subclinical myocardial injury or stress (malignant LVH), confers a heightened stroke risk is unknown.
