Biomechanical and biochemical properties of the thoracic aorta in warmblood horses, Friesian horses, and Friesians with aortic rupture [PDF]
Background: Thoracic aortic rupture and aortopulmonary fistulation are rare conditions in horses. It mainly affects Friesian horses. Intrinsic differences in biomechanical properties of the aortic wall might predispose this breed.

Potentiating Cerebral Perfusion Normalizes Glymphatic Dynamics in Systemic Inflammation
LPS‐induced systemic inflammation increases glymphatic influx but delays cervical lymphatic drainage, accompanied by AQP4 depolarization and impaired glymphatic clearance. Enhancing cerebral blood flow via the inotropic agent levosimendan effectively restored AQP4 polarization, improving glymphatic flux and amyloid‐β clearance.

Abdominal wall repair with human acellular dermal autograft
Repair of abdominal wall defects in the presence of contamination or infection is a significant problem. The loss of tissue warrants enforcement of the abdominal wall, preferably by autologous material. However, autologous repair often requires extensive

Reconstruction of large abdominal wall defects
Reconstruction of a large abdominal defect is a technically demanding procedure. A single flap is sometimes insufficient for cover. Compound procedures play an important role in solving this problem. The case of a 35-year-old man with a large abdominal hernia as a result of a traumatic defect on the right abdomen, previously covered by a skin graft, is

Integrated ‘Shield‐Spear’ Biological Patch for Fibrosis‐Free Bladder Reconstruction
Fibrosis‐free bladder reconstruction remains challenging. This study pioneers an integrated “shield‐spear” patch: The outer anionic hydrogel layer captures GATA6+ macrophages to suppress collagen overexpression, while the inner S100 aptamer‐engineered EVs target Schwann cells to downregulate the TGFβ/Smad pathway—inhibiting fibrosis with enhanced wound

Lateral meningocele and defect of abdominal wall [PDF]
Summary A case of lateral meningocele associated with deficiency of the thoraco-abdominal wall is reported. It is suggested that both of these defects are due to interference with the development of the paraxial mesoderm by a single injury.
