Abelian Extensions

2022
This chapter is based on (Canad J Math 23:857–865, 1971; Canad J Math 25:1113–1119, 1973) by R. L. Roth. Previous papers with some results on this subject include (J. Fac. Sci. Univ. Tokyo Sec. I 10:129–146, 1964) (Pacific J Math 32:119–129, 1970) by N. Iwahori – H. Matsumoto and G. J. Janusz, respectively. See also Sect.

ON THE ABELIAN EXTENSIONS OF LOCALLY COMPACT ABELIAN GROUPS

Mathematics of the USSR-Sbornik, 1982
The group of all abelian extensions of a compact abelian group by a discrete abelian group is calculated completely. Criteria are found for the vanishing of the group of all abelian extensions of a discrete abelian group by a compact one. Two criteria for the splitting of compact abelian groups are obtained.

Abelian Extensions of Quantum Logics

International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 1998
Quantum structures like OMLs, OMPs, orthoalgebras, effect algebras may be regarded as cancellative, unital partial abelian semigroups (PAS). In the paper, it is shown that every cancellative, unital PAS is an extension of an effect algebra by an abelian group.
