When weak convergence in von Neumann algebras implies almost uniform convergence?

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract We show that weak sequential convergence in a semifinite von Neumann algebra M$\mathcal {M}$ equipped with a faithful normal semifinite trace τ$\tau$ implies almost uniform convergence if and only if M$\mathcal {M}$ is of type Ifin$\mathrm{I}_{\rm fin}$ with τ(1)<∞;$\tau (\mathbf {1})<\infty;$ and that weak sequential convergence in a finite ...

Geometry of essential matrix ranges and the Smith–Ward problem for operator systems

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract A d$d$‐tuple of bounded linear selfadjoint operators acting on an infinite‐dimensional separable Hilbert space is said to have the Smith–Ward property if the identity map of the image of the operator system in the Calkin algebra has a completely positive lift.

Abelian Extensions of Modified λ-Differential Left-Symmetric Algebras and Crossed Modules

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we define a cohomology theory of a modified λ-differential left-symmetric algebra. Moreover, we introduce the notion of modified λ-differential left-symmetric 2-algebras, which is the categorization of a modified λ-differential left ...

Free semigroups of large critical exponent

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract For a convergence group equipped with an expanding coarse‐cocycle, we construct finitely generated free subsemigroups, which we call Bishop−−Jonessemigroups$\textit{Bishop--Jones semigroups}$, of critical exponent arbitrarily close to but strictly less than the critical exponent of the ambient group.

Extension of shift-invariant frames for locally compact abelian groups

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Extension, 2014
Let G be a locally compact abelian group with a uniform lattice sub- group. In this paper, we verify extension of shift-invariant systems in L2(G) to tight frames.

Cohomology and Crossed Modules of Modified Rota–Baxter Pre-Lie Algebras

open access: yesMathematics
The goal of the present paper is to provide a cohomology theory and crossed modules of modified Rota–Baxter pre-Lie algebras. We introduce the notion of a modified Rota–Baxter pre-Lie algebra and its bimodule.

Localization sequences for logarithmic topological cyclic homology

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract We introduce the notion of an Ek$\mathbb {E}_k$‐ring with prelogarithmic structure, define logarithmic topological Hochschild homology and logarithmic topological cyclic homology in this context, and establish localization sequences for these theories. Our approach is based on Thom R$R$‐algebras.

Cohomology and deformations of compatible 3-Lie superalgebras

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
In this paper, we first introduce the notions of a compatible 3-Lie superalgebras and its representation. We construct a bidifferential graded Lie algebra whose Maurer–Cartan elements are compatible 3-Lie superalgebras.

Fate of in-medium heavy quarks via a Lindblad equation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
What is the dynamics of heavy quarks and antiquarks in a quark gluon plasma? Can heavy-quark bound states dissociate? Can they (re)combine? These questions are addressed by investigating a Lindblad equation that describes the quantum dynamics of the ...

Higher representation stability for ordered configuration spaces

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Using factorization homology with coefficients in twisted commutative algebras (TCAs), we prove two flavors of higher representation stability for the cohomology of (generalized) configuration spaces of a scheme/topological space X$X$. First, we provide an iterative procedure to study higher representation stability using actions coming from ...
