Donovan's conjecture and blocks with abelian defect groups [PDF]
We give a reduction of Donovan's conjecture for abelian groups to a similar statement for quasisimple groups. Consequently we show that Donovan's conjecture holds for abelian $2$-groups.

The abelianization of hypercyclic groups
Let G be a hypercyclic group. The most substantial results of this paper are the following. a) If G/G′ is 2-divisible, then G is 2-divisible. b) If G/G′ is a 2′-group, then G is a 2′-group. c) If G/G′ is divisible by finite-of-odd-order, then G/V is divisible by finite-of-odd-order, where V is the intersection of the lower central series (continued ...

Types in torsion free Abelian groups [PDF]
In this paper we study (logical) types and isotypical equivalence of torsion free Abelian groups. We describe all possible types of elements and standard 2-tuples of elements in these groups and classify separable torsion free Abelian groups up to isotypicity.

On the Group Rings of Abelian Minimax Groups
An abelian group G is called minimax if it contains a finitely generated subgroup H such that G/H satisfies the minimal condition for subgroups (which I shall abbreviate to min). In this case, we may choose H to be free abelian (by making it smaller if necessary), or we may choose G/H to be divisible (by making H bigger if necessary).
