Abelian Ideals with Given Dimension in Borel Subalgebras [PDF]
A well-known Peterson's theorem says that the number of abelian ideals in a Borel subalgebra of a rank-r finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra is exactly 2r. In this paper, we determine the dimensional distribution of abelian ideals in a Borel subalgebra of finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras, which is a refinement of Peterson's theorem capturing ...

Aggregation and the Structure of Value
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call “Additivism” sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

On split involutive regular BiHom-Lie superalgebras
The goal of this paper is to examine the structure of split involutive regular BiHom-Lie superalgebras, which can be viewed as the natural generalization of split involutive regular Hom-Lie algebras and split regular BiHom-Lie superalgebras.

ABSTRACT Laws play some role in explanations: at the very least, they somehow connect what is explained, or the explanandum, to what explains, or the explanans. Thus, thermodynamical laws connect the match's being struck and its lightning, so that the former causes the latter; and laws about set formation connect Socrates' existence with {Socrates}'s ...

What If Each Voxel Were Measured With a Different Diffusion Protocol?
ABSTRACT Purpose Expansion of diffusion MRI (dMRI) both into the realm of strong gradients and into accessible imaging with portable low‐field devices brings about the challenge of gradient nonlinearities. Spatial variations of the diffusion gradients make diffusion weightings and directions non‐uniform across the field of view, and deform perfect ...

Counting ideals in abelian number fields
Already Dedekind and Weber considered the problem of counting integral ideals of norm at most $x$ in a given number field $K$. Here we improve on the existing results in case $K/\mathbb Q$ is abelian and has degree at least four. For these fields, we obtain as a consequence an improvement of the available results on counting pairs of coprime ideals ...

Ordinary primes for GL2$\operatorname{GL}_2$‐type abelian varieties and weight 2 modular forms
Abstract Let A$A$ be a g$g$‐dimensional abelian variety defined over a number field F$F$. It is conjectured that the set of ordinary primes of A$A$ over F$F$ has positive density, and this is known to be true when g=1,2$g=1, 2$, or for certain abelian varieties with extra endomorphisms.

Equivariant toric geometry and Euler–Maclaurin formulae
Abstract We first investigate torus‐equivariant motivic characteristic classes of toric varieties, and then apply them via the equivariant Riemann–Roch formalism to prove very general Euler–Maclaurin‐type formulae for full‐dimensional simple lattice polytopes.

Self-Dual Abelian Codes in Some Nonprincipal Ideal Group Algebras [PDF]
The main focus of this paper is the complete enumeration of self-dual abelian codes in nonprincipal ideal group algebrasF2k[A×Z2×Z2s]with respect to both the Euclidean and Hermitian inner products, wherekandsare positive integers andAis an abelian group of odd order.

Vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces: Ulrich bundles and degree of irrationality
Abstract This paper deals with two problems about vector bundles on bielliptic surfaces. The first is to give a classification of Ulrich bundles on such surfaces S$S$, which depends on the topological type of S$S$. In doing so, we study the weak Brill–Noether property for moduli spaces of sheaves with isotropic Mukai vector. Adapting an idea of Moretti
