Hearing the Serre Invariant of a Compact p‐Adic Analytic Manifold
ABSTRACT Using a previous novel way of defining kernel functions for Laplacian integral operators on a compact p$p$‐adic analytic manifold X$X$, one such operator Δ0s$\Delta _0^s$ with s∈R$s\in \mathbb {R}$ is applied to hearing the Serre invariant i(X)$i(X)$ by showing that a wavelet eigenvalue (with the wavelet having small support) is always ...

Integrable Abelian vortex-like solitons
We propose a modified version of the Ginzburg–Landau energy functional admitting static solitons and determine all the Painlevé-integrable cases of its Bogomolny equations of a given class of models. Explicit solutions are determined in terms of the third Painlevé transcendents, allowing us to calculate physical quantities such as the vortex number and

Bounding the number of zeros of certain Abelian integrals [PDF]
In this paper we prove a criterion that provides an easy sufficient condition in order for any nontrivial linear combination of n Abelian integrals to have at most n + k - 1 zeros counted with multiplicities.

Peskine Sixfolds and Debarre–Voisin Fourfolds With Associated Cubic Fourfolds
ABSTRACT We develop the notion of Peskine sixfolds with associated K3 surfaces and cubic fourfolds and work out numerical conditions for when these associations occur. In discriminant 24, the first family for which there is an associated cubic fourfold, we identify the cubic explicitly.

Finiteness property for generalized abelian integrals [PDF]
We study the integrals of real functions which are finite compositions of globally subanalytic maps and real power functions. These functions have finiteness properties very similar to those of subanalytic functions. Our aim is to investigate how such finiteness properties can remain when taking the integrals of such functions. The

Hard thermal contributions to phase transition observables at NNLO
To construct the high-temperature effective field theory of gauge-Higgs models up to 𝒪(g 6) in the gauge coupling, we integrate out hard modes to three-loop level and use the next-to-next-to-leading order effective potential. For the Abelian Higgs model,

The large-N limit of the 4d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 superconformal index
We systematically analyze the large-N limit of the superconformal index of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 superconformal theories having a quiver description.

The Long Shadow of Karl Weierstraß Over the Calculus of Variations
ABSTRACT At first glance, it appears that the contents of Karl Weierstraß's (1815–1897) lecture courses on the calculus of variations were made available to the public only in the seventh volume of his Mathematische Werke, and thus not until 30 years after his death.

On the additive image of zeroth persistent homology
Abstract For a category X$X$ and a finite field F$F$, we study the additive image of the functor H0(−;F)∗:rep(X,Top)→rep(X,VectF)$\operatorname{H}_0(-;F)_* \colon \operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Top}) \rightarrow \operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Vect}_F)$, or equivalently, of the free functor rep(X,Set)→rep(X,VectF)$\operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Set ...

Matter field Kähler metric in heterotic string theory from localisation
We propose an analytic method to calculate the matter field Kähler metric in heterotic compactifications on smooth Calabi-Yau three-folds with Abelian internal gauge fields.
