On the Mordell-Weil rank of an abelian variety over a number field [PDF]
Let K be a number field and A an abelian variety over K. The K-rational points of A are known to constitute a finitely generated abelian group (Mordell-Weil theorem).

Null projections and noncommutative function theory in operator algebras
Abstract We study projections in the bidual of a C∗$\mathrm{C}^*$‐algebra B$B$ that are null with respect to a subalgebra A$A$, that is, projections p∈B∗∗$p\in B^{**}$ satisfying |φ|(p)=0$|\varphi |(p)=0$ for every φ∈B∗$\varphi \in B^*$ annihilating A$A$. In the separable case, A$A$‐null projections are precisely the peak projections in the bidual of A$

A characterization of Jacobians by the existence of Picard bundles
Based on the Matsusaka-Ran criterion we give a criterion to characterize when a principal polarized abelian variety is a Jacobian by the existence of Picard bundles.

Multiplicatively dependent integer vectors on a hyperplane
Abstract We establish several asymptotic formulae and upper bounds for the count of multiplicatively dependent integer vectors that lie on a fixed affine hyperplane and have bounded height. This work constitutes a direct extension of the results obtained by Pappalardi, Sha, Shparlinski, and Stewart.

The cohomology objects of a semi-abelian variety are small [PDF]
A well-known, but often ignored issue in Yoneda-style definitions of cohomology objects via collections of n-step extensions (i.e., equivalence classes of exact sequences of a given length n between two given objects, usually subject to further criteria,

Cohomology of abelian arrangements [PDF]
An abelian arrangement is a finite set of codimension one abelian subvarieties (possibly translated) in a complex abelian variety. In this paper, we study the cohomology of the complement of an abelian arrangement. For unimodular abelian arrangements, we

On some integral properties of dimensions in Isaacs fusion categories
Abstract For a fusion category, we prove some new integrality properties concerning the dimension of a simple object that generates an Isaacs fusion subcategory. If any such fusion subcategory is Isaacs, this implies that C$\mathcal {C}$ is a Frobenius‐type fusion category. A stronger divisibility result is proven for any modular fusion category.

Cyclic coverings of genus $2$ curves of Sophie Germain type
We consider cyclic unramified coverings of degree d of irreducible complex smooth genus $2$ curves and their corresponding Prym varieties. They provide natural examples of polarized abelian varieties with automorphisms of order d.

The monodromy pairing and discrete logarithm on the Jacobian of finite graphs
Every graph has a canonical finite abelian group attached to it. This group has appeared in the literature under a variety of names including the sandpile group, critical group, Jacobian group, and Picard group.
