Semantic Modeling in Materials Science and Engineering With Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology 3.0

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The community‐driven Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology (PMDco) 3.0 is introduced as a Basic Formal Ontology‐aligned semantic backbone for the processing–structure–properties paradigm in Materials Science and Engineering. Modular engineering, automated releases, and validation workflows are highlighted and key semantic patterns for materials ...

Nature's Electric Potential: A Systematic Review of the Role of Bioelectricity in Wound Healing and Regenerative Processes in Animals, Humans, and Plants

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2017
Natural endogenous voltage gradients not only predict and correlate with growth and development but also drive wound healing and regeneration processes.

An Explicit Constitutive Reconstruction Framework for Mechanical Characterization of Miniaturized 3D‐Printed Specimens

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An explicit constitutive reconstruction framework enables accurate tensile characterization of miniaturized additively manufactured specimens using only the grip‐to‐grip displacement measurements. Progressive validation through self‐consistency, analytical comparison, and inverse finite element method (iFEM) benchmarking demonstrates constitutive ...

Aberrant Regeneration of Third Nerve

open access: yes, 2014
48 year old woman S/P rupture and repair of right sided posterior communicating artery aneurysm Video shows residual partial right third nerve palsy, with aberrant regeneration, causing a pseudo Von Graefe\u27s sign (elevation of the right upper eyelid

Adaptive Foam 3D Printing of Ultralight and Multifunctional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Adaptive foam 3D printing, enabled by expandable microspheres, imparts cellular structures to thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers, manufactured through a variety of processes including fused filament fabrication, direct ink writing, digital light processing, and inkjet printing.

Aberrant Regeneration of the Seventh Nerve

open access: yes, 1986
Examples of patients with aberrant regeneration of the seventh nerve. First example is a patient with contractions around the mouth and dimpling, demonstrated with slow and rapid eye blinking.

Discrepancies Between Micro Versus Macroscale Viscoelastic Properties in a Microplastic‐Tissue Composite Model

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the discrepancies between bulk mechanics and spatial mapping in a tissue‐mimetic hydrogel model. Microplastic particles create localized stiff mechanical microenvironments that are detectable by cellular‐scale nanoindentation but leave bulk properties unchanged as measured by rheology.

Interleukin-11 causes alveolar type 2 cell dysfunction and prevents alveolar regeneration

open access: yesNature Communications
In lung disease, persistence of KRT8-expressing aberrant basaloid cells in the alveolar epithelium is associated with impaired tissue regeneration and pathological tissue remodeling.

Abduction Defect and Aberrant Regeneration of III

open access: yes, 1995
Aberrant regeneration of the oculomotor nerve (cranial nerve III) is a well known sequel to oculomotor palsy second to intracranial aneurysm. Two cases, one with oculomotor palsy following basilar aneurysm and one after internal carotid artery aneurysm ...

Morphology, Transport, and Dynamics of Protein Adsorption in Open‐Cell Metal Foam

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stainless steel (SS) open‐cell foams are shown to adsorb more protein per unit area than previously reported 316L SS and chromium oxide surfaces under static and flow conditions. An integrated approach combining 3D pore imaging, flow simulation, and protein adsorption experiments characterizes the foam’s performance.
