Symptomatic aberrant retro-esophageal subclavian artery: considerations about the surgical approach, management and results

open access: yes, 1984
Ten case histories of patients with symptomatic aberrant retro-esophageal subclavian artery are presented. The diagnosis was made on a clinical basis in 8 cases because of symptoms of tracheo-esophageal obstruction, and confirmed by barium meal.

Entry closure using the Najuta stent graft without supra-aortic vessel revascularization of a chronic type B aortic dissection with an aberrant right subclavian artery

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques
We report a case of entry closure using the Najuta fenestrated stent graft without supra-aortic vessel revascularization in a patient with chronic type B aortic dissection and an aberrant right subclavian artery.

Hybrid endovascular repair of aneurysmal right-sided aortic arch and Kommerell’s diverticulum using a two-vessel branched stent graft: Case report and review of literature

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2017
Right-sided aortic arches are rare, affecting approximately 0.1% of the population. They are a result of abnormal development of the primitive aortic arches and may present later in life with later life with aneurysmal expansion of the aberrant left ...

Undiagnosed aberrant right subclavian artery: pitfall in aortic arch surgery

open access: yes, 2003
Selected cerebral perfusion as brain protection via right subclavian artery during aortic arch aneurysm repair adds safety, but may be jeopardized by aortic arch anomalies not readily recognized preoperatively.

Structural aortic arch shift and supraaortic angle configuration changes after subclavian to carotid transposition as a proposed mechanism for relief of severe esophageal compression in aberrant subclavian artery anatomy

open access: yesAnnals of Vascular Surgery - Brief Reports and Innovations
Objective: – Adult patients with a right-sided aortic arch and aberrant left subclavian artery with a co-existing Kommerell’s diverticulum (KD) can develop clinically significant esophageal compression requiring staged, open, followed by endovascular ...

The Aberrant Right Subclavian Artery (Arteria Lusoria): The Morphological and Clinical Aspects of One of the Most Important Variations—A Systematic Study of 141 Reports

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
The most important abnormality of the aortic arch is arguably the presence of an aberrant right subclavian artery (arteria lusoria). If this vessel compresses the adjacent structures, several symptoms may be produced.
