Development and germination of Abies alba somatic embryos
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1995Mature zygotic embryos of Abies alba mull were placed on a modified MCM medium (basal medium-BM) with 2.2 μM benzyladenine and 2.3 μM kinetin to induce embryogenic suspensor masses (ESM). These ESM proliferated on induction medium supplemented with 0.2 μM 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.

Volatile components of the oleoresin of Abies alba
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1988The composition of the volatile compoents of the oleoresin ofAbies alba Mill, has been studied. In this oleoresin 19 monoterpene compounds have been identified, the main ones of which are α- and β-pinenes and limonene. Among the 24 sesquitepene compounds identified in the oleoresin, 4 new terpenoids have been found: 10S,11S-himachala-2,3-diene, 10S,11S-

New sesquiterpenoids from the oleoresin of Abies alba
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1988The structures of four new sesquiterpenoids from the oleoresin ofAbies alba have been studied. On the basis of various spectral characteristics, the structures of (10S, 11S)-himachala-2,4-diene, (10S, 11S)-himachala-3(12), 4-diene, humula-4,9-dien-8-ol, and (4S, 5S, 10S)-selina-6-en-4-ol have been proposed for the compounds isolated.

Genetic peculiarities of the groups of Abies alba Mill. trees with the different actual seed productivity were studied. No pronounced interrelation between the number of full-sized seeds and some genetic indices was noted. When comparing the studied groups of trees there were no valid differences in the values of the observed and expected ...

Rückgang der Tanne (Abies alba Mill.) in Polen
European Journal of Forest Pathology, 1981Decline of silver fir (Abies alba Mill.) in Poland. On the basis of his own observations and of data from the literature, the author gives a review of silver fir diseases, pests and damage by other biotic and abiotic factors in Poland and on conjectural causes of the decline of this tree species.
