GENDER FIXED PHRASES IN ENGLISH AND ABKHAZIAN LANGUAGE

The authors consider problem of English and Abkhazian fixed phrases that have gender orientation. It was found that the vast majority of English phraseological units have referents-men, while in the Abkhazian language more gender-marked units are based on female categories.
