Laser ablation behavior and ablation threshold of entropy-controlled perovskite coatings

open access: yesJournal of Metals, Materials and Minerals
The protection threshold of laser ablation resistant materials lags behind the development of laser power density. Single-functional laser ablation resistant materials can no longer meet the practical needs. High-entropy perovskites with infinite chemical composition, tunable bandgap structure, and efficient thermal management capabilities provide new ...

Peripheral retinal ablation for threshold retinopathy of prematurity in preterm infants

open access: yesCochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 1999
This section is under preparation and will be included in the next issue. In premature infants with threshold retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) does peripheral retinal ablation, by any means, reduce the incidence of adverse ophthalmic outcome? The standard search strategy of the Cochrane Neonatal Review Group was used.

Magnetocardiographic demonstration of complex ventricular preexcitation resulting in ablation failure

open access: yes, 2013
The Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome affects 1 to 3 persons per 1000. Catheter ablation (CA) is nowadays proposed as the preferred therapy (with success in more than 90% of cases) and ECG is the most used non-invasive method for classification and ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Near Threshold Femtosecond Laser Interactions with Materials: Ablation Thresholds, Morphologies, and Dynamics. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This dissertation reports the results of femtosecond (fs, 10-15 seconds) laser ablation studies performed on single crystal silicon with oxide thin films and the single crystal Ni-based superalloy, CMSX-4.

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)
