Graft-versus-host disease: its oral manifestations

open access: yesRevista Cubana de Estomatología, 2017
Graft-versus-host disease is the main complication following an allogeneic tissue transplant. It is caused by an exaggerated inflammatory reaction mediated by donor lymphocytes and stimulated by tissues lesioned by the underlying disease, by previous ...

Transfusion support in the first 100 days of allogeneic, matched, related hematopoietic stem cell transplant

open access: yesIndian Journal of Transplantation, 2023
Background: Patients receiving hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation (HSCT) require extensive transfusion support until red blood cell (RBC) and platelet engraftment occurs.

Application of complement component 4d immunohistochemistry to ABO-compatible and ABO-incompatible liver transplantation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) is difficult to diagnose after ABO-compatible or ABO-identical (ABO-C) liver transplantation. To determine whether complement component 4d (C4d) immunostaining would be useful for diagnosing AMR, we compared the results ...

Reinstating Niche Failure in Diabetic Cranial Defects via Chronotaxic Signal‐Amplifying Fluidic Biomimetic Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An in situ moldable GelSSO/PDA@SDF hydrogel functions as a chronotaxic signal‐amplifying biomimetic niche to restore regenerative failure in diabetic cranial defects. By sequentially releasing SDF‐1α‐loaded PDA nanoparticles and osteoinductive oligodeoxynucleotides, it orchestrates immunomodulation, progenitor recruitment, angiogenesis, and ...

Possible role of ABO system in age-related diseases and longevity: a narrative review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
ABO blood group antigens are expressed either on the surface of red blood cells either on a variety of other cells. Based on the available knowledge of the genes involved in their biosynthesis and their tissue distribution, their polymorphism has been ...

Next Generation Sequencing-Based Fetal ABO Blood Group Prediction by Analysis of Cell-Free DNA from Maternal Plasma

open access: yesTransfusion Medicine and Hemotherapy, 2020
Introduction: ABO blood group incompatibility between a pregnant woman and her fetus as a cause of morbidity or mortality of the fetus or newborn remains an important, albeit rare, risk.

Enhancing Stability of Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells via Buried Interface Modification Using In‐Situ Crosslinked Thiol‐Ene Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Two crosslinkable molecules are introduced into the buried interface of perovskite to regulate the interfacial contact between [2‐(3,6‐dimethoxy‐9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)ethyl]phosphonic acid and perovskite. The cross‐linked interfacial layer can control the crystallization process of the perovskite thin film and adjust the energy level alignment.

Blood type gene locus has no influence on ACE association with Alzheimer's disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The ABO blood group locus was recently found to contribute independently as well as via interactions with ACE gene variation to plasma levels of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE).

Light Transition Metal Functionalized ψ‐Graphene as Promising Hydrogen Storage Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
ψ‐Graphene monolayers doped with Sc, Ti, or V exhibit strong metal binding, low diffusion barriers, and high reversible hydrogen storage capacities. Density functional theory and AIMD analyses confirm their thermal stability and compliance with U.S. DOE targets.

Effect of aerial O-2 partial pressure on bimodal gas exchange and air-breathing behaviour in Trichogaster leeri [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
© The Company of Biologists Ltd 2007The effects of experimental alterations of aerial O2 partial pressure (PO2,air) on bimodal gas exchange and airbreathing behaviour were investigated in the aquatic airbreathing fish Trichogaster leeri in normoxic water.
