Decidual macrophage‐mediated ferroptosis in trophoblasts leads to recurrent spontaneous abortion
Decidual macrophages from recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) patients promote trophoblast ferroptosis and impair trophoblast cell function. Mechanistically, the CXCL2/NF‐κB/HMOX1 axis mediates this effect. Conversely, trophoblasts co‐cultured with RSA decidual macrophages induce pro‐inflammatory macrophage polarization through IL‐6/JAK2/STAT3 ...

The Endothelial CXCR Family in Vascular Health and Disease
ABSTRACT Endothelial cells (ECs) form the dynamic interface between blood and tissue, serving as key regulators of vascular homeostasis, inflammation, and repair. Among the molecular systems governing endothelial behavior, the C‐X‐C motif chemokine receptor (CXCR) family—originally characterized in immunology for its roles in leukocyte trafficking and ...

Lactation, Childrearing, and Gender Justice
ABSTRACT In this article, I discuss the significance of early infant feeding choices for the goal of gender justice. Focusing on human lactation practices, I identify Exclusive Gestational Nursing (EGN) as the norm in advanced industrial societies, which creates the expectation and permission for gestators, and only gestators, to nurse children, and ...

Delivery Routes and Anesthesia Affect Cord Blood NGF, BDNF, and Neonatal Outcomes
Nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain‐derived neurotrophin (BDNF) play a role in brain maturation. Cord blood values do not differ between vaginal delivery and CS cases. In CS cases with spinal anesthesia, high BDNF and NGF values were associated with high cord blood pH and APGAR scores.

ABSTRACT Climate change and rising ambient temperatures increasingly challenge sheep production systems in arid and semi‐arid regions, particularly during the summer breeding season. This study evaluated the effects of heat stress and direct solar exposure on physiological responses, metabolic profile, and reproductive performance of Barbarine ewes, a ...

Calpain Proteases and the Evolving Signaling Network in Insect Embryonic Patterning
Insect embryonic Dorsal‐Ventral (DV) patterning relies on the BMP and Toll pathways to different extents. Calcium‐dependent cystein proteases of the Calpain family also exert an important function to pattern the DV axis. In Drosophila, Calpain A cleaves the Cactus/IkappaB inhibitor and modifies Toll signals in ventral regions of the embryo. In Rhodnius
