Motivators for Adherence and Drivers of Taboo‐Breaking Behaviour Regarding Food Taboos Among Rural Pregnant Women in Bangladesh: Findings From Formative Research

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, EarlyView.
Food taboos persist among rural pregnant women in Bangladesh, influenced by cultural beliefs and family traditions. Adherence is driven by concerns for foetal health and social norms, while breaking taboos is enabled by nutritional counselling, family support, and improved education levels.

Determinants of Nurturing Care Behaviours in Malawi: An Ethnographic Study

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Malawi, 38% of children under five are stunted, and only 36% are developmentally on track. An ethnographic study using the Reality Check Approach was conducted in four villages in Ntcheu and Balaka districts in Malawi to understand caregiving‐related drivers of malnutrition and poor child development.

Phenotypic Divergence and Genomic Architecture Between Parallel Ecotypes at Two Different Points on the Speciation Continuum in a Marine Snail

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Speciation is rarely observable directly. A way forward is to compare pairs of ecotypes that evolved in parallel in similar contexts but have reached different degrees of reproductive isolation. Such comparisons are possible in the marine snail Littorina saxatilis by contrasting barriers to gene flow between parallel ecotypes in Spain and ...

Strong Bottlenecks Constrain Adaptive Coevolution in a Host–Parasite Metapopulation

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although parasites are well‐known for adaptively evolving in order to exploit their hosts, they may experience strong genetic drift during transmission bottlenecks when infecting a new host. Host population structure and host population bottlenecks can also lead to genetic drift effects in parasite populations, constraining their adaptive ...

RETRACTED: Comparison of the effect of dydrogesterone and natural micronized progesterone for luteal‐phase support in assisted reproductive technology cycles: A single‐blind randomized clinical trial study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports
Background and Aims One of the causes of preterm labor and recurrent abortion is progesterone deficiency in the luteal phase. The aim of the study was a comparison of the effect of oral dydrogesterone and vaginal progesterone for luteal‐phase support ...

Artificial intelligence and gender equity: An integrated approach for health professional education

open access: yesMedical Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction As artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly integrates into health workplaces, evidence suggests AI can exacerbate gender inequity. Health professional programmes have a role to play in ensuring graduates grasp the challenges facing working in an AI‐mediated world.
