Above-ground phytomass of a tropical deciduous forest on the coast of Jalisco, México

Journal of Tropical Ecology, 1992
ABSTRACT Phytomass was determined for a tropical deciduous forest in Chamela, Jalisco, México. The mean canopy height was 6.9 m, and the total basal area was 25.6 m2 ha−1 (dbh > 3.0 cm). The estimated phytomass for this forest (85 Mg ha−1) is among the highest values for tropical dry forests with similar seasonal climates.

Above-ground phytomass and light regime in Norway spruce stands planted with different initial density

Biomass and Bioenergy, 1996
Abstract Above-ground phytomass and light regime in Norway spruce stands, planted with different initial density (from 0.8 to 200,000 trees ha −1 ) have been investigated. Two phases of needle mass increment (open-growth and after crown closure, i.e. ecosystem formation) have been singled out.

Long‐term after effects of fertilization on above‐ground phytomass and species diversity in calcareous grassland

Journal of Vegetation Science, 1996
Abstract. Long‐term after effects on species number and productivity in calcareous grassland were analyzed after cessation of fertilization. Three series of permanent plots were monitored yearly from 1971 to 1993. These series differed in duration of fertilization and in fertilizer composition, notably the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus.Yearly ...

Species composition and above ground phytomass in chalk grassland with different management

Vegetatio, 1983
During the last decades chalk grasslands lost their agricultural importance in the greater part of their distribution area in W Europe. Due to their botanical richness a number of chalk grassland sites were established as Nature Reserve. As a consequence of the semi-natural character of these grasslands an appropriate management is necessary to ...

Seasonal visible, near-infrared and mid-infrared spectra of rice canopies in relation to LAI and above-ground dry phytomass

Remote Sensing of Environment, 1989
Spectral reflectance factors were measured for paddy rice canopies in the visible (VIS), reflective near-infrared (NIR), and mid-infrared (MIR) wavelength regions. Radiometric and agronomic measurements were performed every other week from 45 days before heading to 64 days after heading in early- and late-planted rice plots consisting of five cultivars.

Seasonal change in the above-ground phytomass of anAgrostis-with-Festucagrassland in North-east Scotland

Botanical Journal of Scotland, 1993
Summary The above-ground standing crop of an Agrostis-with-Festuca grassland near Cabrach, Banff, was measured nine times in a 16-month period by harvesting sample plots. Standing crop peaked in late summer when the weight of live graminoid phytomass reached its seasonal maximum.

Distribution and annual net accumulation of above-ground dead phytomass and its influence on throughfall quality in a Mexican tropical deciduous forest ecosystem

Journal of Tropical Ecology, 2002
The amount and annual net accumulation of above-ground dead woody material were quantified in a tropical deciduous forest in western Mexico. Three plots were located within a small watershed (16 ha) and distributed along a 150-m-elevation gradient (Upper, Middle and Lower plot). Total amount of above-ground dead phytomass (fine + coarse) was 27.2 Mg ha-

Short Communication:A technique to quantify available above-ground phytomass of grass tufts in defoliation studies.

African Journal of Range and Forage Science, 1991
A technique to quantify available above-ground phytomass of grass tufts in defoliation studies is described. Highly significant correlations were found between tuft volume and above-ground phytomass in eighteen out of twenty-two species that were examined. Tuft volume can therefore be used to calculate the above-ground phytomass of a tuft.

ASSESSMENT OF ABOVE GROUND PHYTOMASS DYNAMICS IN THE FORESTS OF THE PENZA REGION USING MACHINE LEARNING ALGORITHM
