Auto‐Downregulation of the Florigen FT Production Prevents Precocious Flowering in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that the leaf vein‐expressed FD complexes with the florigen FT to bind DNA motifs in FT promoter, which antagonizes CONSTANS‐mediated FT activation to feedback down‐regulate FT expression. This prevents an excessive induction of FT expression by inductive photoperiods, thereby precluding precocious transition to flowering in ...

Biofilm‐Binding Phages Enhance Biofilm Eradication by Synergistic Photothermal and Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered phage‐based trifunctional nanofibers are developed for synergistic biofilm eradication. Biofilm‐binding phages, armed with AuNPs and TCPP, serve as both warheads and scaffolds, endowing the phototherapy agents with biofilm‐anchoring ability. Upon light irradiation, AuNPs induce photothermal therapy, while TCPP generates 1O2 for photodynamic ...

Estimating mangrove above-ground biomass (AGB) in Sabah, Malaysia using field measurements, shuttle radar topography mission and Landsat data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Mangroves are one of the most productive forest ecosystems and play an important role in carbon storage. We examined the use of Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data to estimate mangrove Above-ground Biomass (AGB) in Sabah, Malaysia.

Model-based inference for biomass estimation in a LiDAR sample survey in Hedmark County, Norway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In forest inventories, regression models are often applied to predict quantities such as biomass at the level of sampling units. In this paper, we propose a model-based inference framework for combining sampling and model errors in the variance ...
