Microbial and Non‐Microbial Biostimulants for Soil Health in Managed Agricultural Systems: A Scientometric Analysis of Bioinputs From 2021 to 2025

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Biostimulants and related bioinputs encompass microbial and non‐microbial strategies used to improve plant performance, nutrient‐use efficiency, stress resilience, and soil functioning. Aim For this study, plant biostimulants were operationally defined as substances or microorganisms applied to enhance nutrient‐use efficiency ...

An Overview of the functioning of Temperate Forest Ecosystems with Particular Reference to Himalayan Temperate Forest

open access: yesTrees, Forests and People, 2022
Plant functional traits (PETs) are an important indicator of structure and function of forest ecosystem. However, the succinct accounting of the linkages across the various forest types are lacking across the literature.

Cutting through the noise: What can habitat selection modeling teach us about caribou‐fire space use dynamics?

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
We synthesize the current knowledge regarding caribou habitat selection in relation to wildfires. Caribou responses to recent burns were generally weak and highly variable across subspecies or ecotypes, suggesting that post‐fire habitat selection is likely context‐dependent and the need for regionally adapted habitat management strategies.

Seasonal Dynamics of Soil Multitrophic Biodiversity, Co‐Occurrence Network and Assembly Mechanisms Under Typical Vegetation Restoration Patterns in Karst Region

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Previous studies often overlooked the dynamic effects of karst vegetation restoration on soil multi‐trophic biodiversity and the underlying community‐assembly mechanisms. To fill this gap, we performed a seasonal comparative analysis of soil biodiversity, co‐occurrence network architecture, and assembly processes across three representative ...

Community‐Managed Systems as Nature‐Based Solutions: Effects of Elevation and Size on Floral Richness and Carbon Stock of Sacred Groves in Kerala, India

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Limiting global warming to 1.5°C–2°C requires rapid reductions in atmospheric carbon, highlighting the need to conserve ecosystems with high carbon stock potential. Sacred groves are culturally protected forest fragments maintained through traditional practices and represent community‐managed landscapes with significant potential as nature ...

Comparative Ecological and Physiological Characteristics of the Response of Oak (Quercus robur L.) Seed Stands to Forest Growth Conditions

open access: yesЛесной журнал
A comprehensive retrospective ecological and physiological analysis of tabular data on the dry mass of stands of the genus Quercus aged from 10–20 to 140–200 years has been carried out in order to convert them into quantitative indices of the functioning

Drivers of tropical rainforest biomass in Papua New Guinea: large trees and taxonomic diversity dominate over other drivers

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Tropical forests are among the most diverse and productive ecosystems globally, with aboveground biomass (AGB) storing a substantial portion of terrestrial carbon. While biodiversity, composition, and forest structure have been shown to affect AGB, their relative roles, interactions, and direct and indirect effects, with consideration of tree‐size ...

Carbon stocks and biodiversity of coastal lowland forests in South Africa: implications for aligning sustainable development and carbon mitigation initiatives

open access: yesCarbon Management, 2019
Indigenous forests represent South Africa’s smallest biome, yet they are critical spaces for aligning sustainable development goals with carbon mitigation activities and conservation.
