Drop‐Location‐Insensitive Droplet‐Based Electricity Generator Using Polydimethylsiloxane Slippery Covalently Attached Liquid Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Drop‐location sensitivity remains a key barrier to practical droplet‐based electricity generators (DEGs). Here, a polydimethylsiloxane slippery covalently attached liquid (PDMS‐SCAL)‐coated interface promotes droplet sliding instead of splitting or bouncing, allowing stable electricity generation from randomly falling raindrops. The resulting PDMS‐SCAL‐

Protease‐Triggered Chromogenic Release From Peptide‐Modified Calcium Carbonate Microspheres Enables Colorimetric Detection of Porphyromonas gingivalis Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a chromogenic release‐based assay system with protease‐cleavage peptide‐modified calcium carbonate microspheres for colorimetric detection of Porphyromonas (P.) gingivalis activity. In response to Arg‐specific gingipain secreted by P. gingivalis, the supernatant becomes colored, enabling colorimetric analysis and providing the monitoring of ...

Degradation Mechanism of Phosphate‐Based Li‐NASICON Conductors in Alkaline Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
The presence of water in the cathode of a Li‐air battery shifts reactions to produce LiOH, creating a corrosive, alkaline environment. This study investigates the alkaline stability of the common Li‐NASICON solid‐state conductor chemistries through a systematic experimental study combined with computational modeling to understand the degradation ...

Challenges and enablers in fluidization technology

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Gas–solid fluidized beds provide excellent heat and mass transfer for high‐throughput operations from coating to catalytic conversion and underpin emerging low‐carbon technologies. Yet industrial reliability, scale‐up, and control lag scientific understanding, particularly as finer, stickier, and more variable feedstocks increasingly challenge

Autonomous X‐Ray Fluorescence Mapping for Nanoscale Chemical Speciation of Fine Particulate Matter

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We present X‐AutoMap, an autonomous X‐ray fluorescence mapping framework that integrates real‐time analysis with rule‐based computer vision to selectively target chemically relevant regions. By avoiding background‐dominated areas, the method reduces acquisition time by fourfold while enabling accurate particle‐level speciation.
