Abrasion Resistance of Concrete

Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 1991
The abrasion resistance of 12 concretes is compared with the ASTM C779-82 (procedure C) testing method. Four different types of aggregates were used; their source rocks are completely characterized in terms of compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, Los Angeles loss, and abrasion resistance.

A study of Cr3C2-based HVOF- and HVAF-sprayed coatings: Abrasion, dry particle erosion and cavitation erosion resistance

Wear, 2020
Material and spray process selection are the key factors in the tailoring of thermal sprayed coatings for demanding industrial applications. In this study, four commercial Cr3C2-based feedstock materials were sprayed with gas-fuelled high-velocity oxygen-

Experimental evidence that micro and macrostructural surface properties markedly influence on abrasion resistance of concretes

Wear, 2019
Surface abrasive wear is a pathological manifestation that compromises concrete floors. Although the abrasion resistance of concretes has been extensively associated with the materials and matrix properties, the influence of the surface layer quality has

Abrasion resistance behaviour of fly ash based geopolymer using nanoindentation and artificial neural network

Construction and Building Materials, 2019
This study presents the investigation of the abrasion resistance of fly ash based geopolymer via the application of nanoindentation. Nine fly ash based geopolymer mixes with four variables: silica fume (SF), sand to cementitious ratio (s/c), liquid to ...

A comparison of abrasion resistance of dental stones

Dental Materials, 1987
Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the abrasion resistance of gypsum dental die stones. A review of literature of previous evaluations of gypsum products is presented, and the relevancy of the various tests is discussed. Testing was done at 24 h and 7 days after mixing. There are significant differences between die stones, and aging

Environmental evaluation, hydration, pore structure, volume deformation and abrasion resistance of low heat Portland (LHP) cement-based materials

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2018
Low heat Portland (LHP) cement is one type of low energy and emission cement. In this work, the abrasion resistance, heat releasing properties, shrinkage behavior and pore structures of LHP cement-based materials are comprehensively investigated, and ...
