Abrasive flow machining of aerospace materials

open access: yes, 2020
An advanced surface treatment method, abrasive flow machining (AFM), is an economical technique for high precision machining of hard and complex parts that are difficult to reach. With the AFM method, surface quality is improved by removing the low mechanical properties on the surface of the parts for increasing surface quality demands in the aviation ...

From Grave to Cradle: Kombucha Waste for Sustainable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a sustainable method to purify kombucha bacterial cellulose (KBC) with sodium bicarbonate and hydrogen peroxide, avoiding harsh chemicals. KBC films are patterned with gold and function as pressure sensors for flatfoot gait detection. At the end‐of‐life, the KBC‐based device biodegrades in soil, leaving environmentally benign gold

OCTN2 Activates a Non‐Canonical Carnitine Metabolic Pathway to Promote MASH‐HCC Progression and Immunotherapy Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In non‐MASH‐HCC, L‐carnitine promotes tumor progression primarily through its classical role in enhancing fatty acid oxidation (FAO). However, in MASH‐HCC, where FAO is markedly suppressed, L‐carnitine shifts from this canonical function to serve instead as an intracellular acetyl group buffer.

Mitochondrial CircRNA CircMT‐RNR2 Safeguards Antioxidant Defense to Support Fibroblast Functions in Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CircMT‐RNR2 promotes wound healing by enhancing fibroblast proliferation, migration, contraction, and extracellular matrix (ECM) production. It sustains mitochondrial redox balance by stabilizing the antioxidant protein PRDX3, thereby reducing ROS‐induced damage. In diabetic foot ulcers, hypoxia, hyperglycemia, and reduced FGF2 and EGF expression lower
