A New Paradigm for Understanding the Rheology and Processability of Poly(p‐Phenylene Terephthalamide) Liquid‐Crystalline Solutions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 34, September 10, 2026.
Kevlar is traditionally modeled as a rigid‐rod polymer, yet rheological behavior deviates from this assumption. The review introduces a novel “twist‐tie” entanglement theory for aramid polymer chains in the nematic liquid crystal state, providing a molecular explanation for deviations from rigid‐rod models. Understanding twist‐tie entanglement dynamics

Active Free Radical Cold Atmosphere Plasma Promotes Healing of Diabetes Foot Ulcer: Mechanism and Challenge

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) have become an important cause of disability and death in patients with diabetes. Traditional therapies are prone to problems such as recurrence and drug resistance, which result in unsatisfactory healing effects for DFUs.

Antipredatory Strategies of Anurans: An Updated Conceptual Review

open access: yesEthology, Volume 132, Issue 9, Page 662-708, September 2026.
To unravel the evolutionary dynamics of predator–prey interactions, we propose an updated, three‐tiered classification of anuran antipredatory strategies. By mapping non‐behavioral, individual, and group defenses across five functional phases, this integrative framework introduces the concept of synergetic coupling.

Mitigation of Edge Fracture in Tempered Glass During Abrasive Water Jet Cutting

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical and Materials Engineering
When an 8 mm-thick glass hob plate is cut in a circular shape using high-pressure abrasive water jet cutting in two distinct sizes, it leads to issues such as breakage and burr formation along the edges.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.
